Iraqi police: US gunfire at minibus kills 4 bank employees on way to work
BAGHDAD - American troops at a roadblock in Baghdad fired on a minibus carrying bank employees to work on Tuesday, killing as many as four passengers, Iraqi officials said. The U.S. military said it was aware of the report.

The shooting took place in northern Baghdad's Shaab neighborhood, known as a Shiite militia stronghold, as the driver was collecting employees to go to work at Rasheed bank, police said.

U.S. troops fired when the bus reached the U.S. roadblock and tried to drive through, killing four passengers — including three women, police and hospital officials said.

Abdul-Karim Khalaf, the Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman, said a Finance Ministry bus came under fire, and one woman was killed and five passengers injured. "We do not know what happened and we asked the multinational forces to investigate the event," Khalaf said.

2. Failed to heed a warning shot?
What in the world was the driver thinking, that he was running a stop sign in Iowa?

5. Oh well, thank you for the meaningless cliche.
The driver of that vehicle is not a victim, (s)he is a candidate for a Darwin award.

6. You know nothing of the immidiate circumstances
Following the same logic, the troops that get killed in iraq should get the darwin awards too... :eyes:

7. Jesus Christ on a trailer hitch he ignored a warning shot and tried to run a roadblock!
Do you think it's a secret to Iraqis that it is a very bad idea to pull such a stunt? This is the same neighborhood where masked gunmen had just slaughtered 11 people on Sunday. What were the soldiers supposed to do, salute them as they sped through the roadblock unhindered? They had to assume the worst, that they and/or others were being attacked with a deadly device such as a car bomb. A suicide bomber killed 6 people in Baghdad that same day.

The soldiers had no choice, they had to fire on the vehicle. And now they'll have to live with that experience for the rest of their lives. If you want to feel sorry for someone, why don't you include the soldiers instead the stupid driver of the minibus?

I have the information I have been presented, same as you - the article. If you have reliable information to refute the event as depicted, why don't you enlighten us all?
