this morning the weather woman on CNN said everybody should go to the


malls (in the cold and rainy parts of the US) to spend the day.

I wondered if she was told to say that or if it was her own cockeyed idea.

1. Not a new idea...
In SoCal, the malls (at least the indoor ones) often get crowded on hot days, presumably with people whose homes don't have AC.

Our economy is going down. Better urge the masses onto the rain-slicked streets to pack the malls, see if we can get a little short-term buoyancy. It's the most irresponsible use of weather people I've seen yet.

5. Maybe everyone should turn off their furnaces...
pack a nice lunch/dinner, books, games, etc...and have the family just camp out at the mall all day.
