Virginia GOP demands oath of loyalty from their primary voters..
I wonder if they'll make the voters pinky swear too?...:eyes:

Elections Board OKs GOP loyalty oath for presidential primary
By BOB LEWIS | AP Political Writer
November 26, 2007

RICHMOND, Va. - Voters in Virginia's Feb. 12 Republican presidential primary will have to sign an oath swearing loyalty to the eventual GOP ticket.

The State Board of Elections on Monday approved a state Republican Party request that all who apply for a GOP primary ballot first vow in writing to vote for the Republican presidential nominee next fall.

There is no practical way to enforce the GOP covenant in the constitutionally guaranteed secrecy of the voting booth. Yet the oath is a concept Virginia's GOP has considered for years.

Voters in Virginia do not register by party. Since the mid-90s, the state's Republicans have fretted that Democrats might meddle in their primaries, which are open to all registered voters.

Virginia Democrats require no oath for their presidential primary, which will be held the same day.

3. "Meddling" happens all the time in Mississippi and Georgia
But it's always Repukes voting for the candidate they consider weakest in the Democratic primary, not the other way around. That's why you get 65% of all primary votes cast in the Democratic primary and then the 'pukes gather 70% of the votes in the general election. Maybe primaries work in states that are less corrupt than Mississippi, but I truly believe we'd be better off with caucuses and/or a statewide convention.

6. Lack of meddling may have cursed us with G.W. Bush..
we knew Gore was a lock for the nomination in 2000. If we'd all gone out and voted for McCain in the open GOP primaries, who knows what would have happened?

I sincerely regret not doing it to this day.

13. You must also participate in the sacred initiation ritual
of receiving spats on the ass while naked from black-robed party elders while saying "thank you sir, may I have another".

Can't find a pic from Animal House of the Omega house initiation ritual...

10. Why stop there? Have them sign a proxy voter document like for
voting rights in stockholder votes for corporations. Then the republican voters wouldn't even HAVE TO SHOW UP TO VOTE in November.

12. Why Not Dip Their Fingers In Purple Ink?
It'd be much easier to count all ten of their voters that way.
