WGA Strike Rally Today in NYC --->>>
Edited on Tue Nov-27-07 06:09 PM by Stephanie

Excellent turnout for the rally in Washington Square today. Headline guest speaker: John Edwards. He gave a terrific speech and was unambiguous as to whose side he's on. Clinton & Obama sent written statements. Jerry Nadler, Danny Glover, Tim Robbins, Colin Quinn spoke. And Aasif Mandvi from the Daily Show, very funny. I saw Tina Fey, Eric Bogosian in the crowd. All the local union leaders turned out, many (but not enough) of the local politicos. It was a good day for labor in Washington Square. Below are some youtube videos about why this struggle matters. In Solidarity!

1. my doggies and I
found ourselves in the thick of it during our walk today. But the pups were more interested in getting back to the safety of home having just come from the Vet (cue ominous music) and really couldn't be bothered with politicos blah blahing and signs that didn't have their picture on them. Oh, and no treats? Fo'gedaboudit!

It looked like a great turnout with a lot of support, though!

P.S. I support the strikers.

5. Hillary Clinton's statement was somewhat ambiguous, of course.
What's more, for a writers strke, it was ungrammatical!
