Karl Rove, historical revisionist gobbledygook, and The Republican War On Iraq For Oil...
Whom, if anyone, is prepared to stand by idlely, and allow such pernicious nonsense to stand any longer without response?

1. Here's what I don't get about Rove's insane lies
What if it were actually true that the IWR was passed by Congress against the Administration's wishes? So fucking what? This meant Bush was compelled to invade Iraq immediately? How desperate is Rove, and how incredibly stupid does he think we are?:wtf: (Wait--don't answer that...)

2. He takes advantage of the fact most Americans can't remember last week...
let alone years ago. There's a Chaser piece, it's probably on Youtube, of one guy asking Americans what date the 9/11 attacks took place. For such a significant event, they had a lot of footage of people getting it wrong. Not just the year, but the day and month.

Since the media is not going to correct him, and the populace aren't going to notice, what's making him tell the truth?

3. Americans!! They are without doubt banking on our penchant for apathy...
corporate franchise sports scores, and our desire to be infatuated with our ego' & personal desires, still...as a congenial, natural-born-liar, as you suggest...there is *nothing* in this picture to stop him I agree x(

5. I got a letter from Karl Rove today
Well, actually the person who use to live here was supposed to get it. I think I may send in the envelope with a few choice words.

7. If anyone still has a Newsweek subscription . . .
Rove was recently hired by them. We didn't renew ours because it had turned into "Jesusweek."

8. firstly - the resolution was authorization to use force
IF NECESSARY - it wasn't a declaration of war, it wasn't an order by congress to bush for the invasion

it was suppose to be a tool that was suppose to be used as a threat in order to get Saddam to comply

the ultimate decision to invade was made by the decider - NOT CONGRESS

the timing of the vote prior to the 2002 (s)election was designed to embarass dems and/or get them on the record regarding the WAR ON TERROR - if they voted against the resolution it would have been spun as being against the WAR ON TERROR

as far as the actual invasion date - that was bush's decision. He could have decided to go sooner or later or not at all.

and one last thing - name one time that bush did something congress told him to do. the only time he has "complied" with congress is when he has told them what to tell him to do.

10. Why does he think anyone would believe him? I guess he means to
make the "base" think twice about being angry at the Iraq quagmire. If he can detach * from the initial decisions..he can perhaps get them to come back into the fold. But what does it say about the respect he has for freepers? He must think they are very, very stupid indeed.
