Report: 1M Illegal Immigrants Living In Fla.
Number Of Immigrants Up 17 Percent Since 2000
Nearly 3.5 million immigrants are living in Florida and nearly a third of them are in the state illegally, according to a new report.
The Center for Immigration Studies said at least 1 million of the 3.5 million immigrants are in Florida illegally.
The number of immigrants is up from 2.9 million in 2000 -- a 16.7 percent increase from 2000 to 2007. According to the report, the state has one of the fastest-growing immigrant populations.
The data was collected by the Census Bureau in March 2007.
