It is december 1 - what do you want for Christmas?
My son asked me this before I headed off to work.
I loftily replied, "World peace!"

He looked incredulously at me and stated - sure Mom - I'll just head over to the middle east - and tell them to just cool it! Imagine the news headlines - 15 year old stops war!

As I drove to work, it got me to thinking - what DO I want? I have no needs really. And so material things are getting less and less important to me as I get older I guess.

What I really want is for America to act like America. What I really want is for criminal acts to be accounted for in a real solid way. The way I see it - impeachment remains the only avenue for America to adjust itself. Nobody else can do it - and it appears that nobody other than Kucinich wants to. Why? I've heard various reasons - it would take too long - it would distract from real issues that congress should be taking care of. It would divide the country. It would fail.

To me, however, a simple peon in the affairs of the world, it is the ONLY issue that counts. Say what you will about President Bush. Call him a criminal. Say he is awful for ordering torture, outing a CIA agent, starting an illegal war of aggression. We know all these things - but to do nothing about it is enabling more tyranny. And more than that - enabling such policies because it is al election year and leaving things as they are just to show how evil republicans are - is stratergizing America right out of what she should be. It is costing the reputation of the nation, the treasury of the value of its dollars, and countless hundreds of thousands of lives. Showing us is one thing - but DOING something about it is what counts. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

Saying once you are elected - things will change is not good enough unless you pursue the criminals who currently reside in the white house. That is the real value of the American system that has been perverted, squandered and wasted - all because getting elected is more important than seeing justice done.

Ah well - my words count for very little. I have no power. I can't subpeona anybody or arrest anybody. And who votes doesn't count - it is who counts the votes that matter.

So, I've decided that all I want for Christmas is for the Kucinich impeachment bill to be put forward, debated vigorously and openly on the house floor and voted on. I want people who order torture to be imprisoned(as they should be). I want people who instigate a war on false premises to be held accountable (as they should be) I want people/institutions/corporations who profit from war, to be held accountable, and made to pay war damages and humiliated utterly, and destroyed financially.

So Santa.....it is a tall tall order...........I want America to be what it once promised to be by the founders.

1. Good points
Sadly, I don't know if we can ever get back to what we were. I'm afraid we are a ruined nation, and fear that by this time next year we may no longer be a democracy in any form. So I strive to find and maintain inner peace, and to get my stuff together so I can hunker down and wait out all that is to come.

9. If vote theft is allowed to prevail
Then you have ceased being a democracy already.

But I refuse to believe that America is ruined. Out of the ashes of a horrific forest fire, small sprouts of life prevail, grow, and flourish. And given time, sunshine, fair winds and soft rain, the forest can regrow.

It is up to you to persuade your officials - not persuade, demand they do their duty. I still believe that the American public is the most powerful influencial force on its government - if that public can coalesce into a single strong demanding voice. What government wants you and itself to believe is that you have no options, that you can be easily misled, and entertained whilst government diddles away your prosperity, your rights, your freedoms.

If you are silent - then they win by default.

I have great skepticsm and distrust in the Bush doctrine and all it stands for. But, I still have a great deal of hope for the American experiment of democracy.

2. Every neocon standing in chains before the Hague
Every theocon standing in judgment before the lord he gives lip service to serving.

A government that stands with the people against the rich and powerful.

A Pentagon that is focused entirely on national defense instead of meddling in other people's affairs.

A return to the constitutional separation of powers, with checks and balances intact.

Scalia and Thomas impeached for their conflict of interest in their 2000 decision putting Stupid into office.

The RNC hauled up on RICO charges for multistate, coordinated voter suppression and voter machine tampering in the last several elections.

A complete end to the Iraq war. An end to the war in Afghanistan except for action in the eastern part of the country to capture bin Laden alive and let him sing about the Bush family.

A complete exposure of Sun Myung Moon's empire and how far its tentacles reach into our own government.

Single payer health insurance that focuses on the delivery of care to sick people, not cost containment or profit maximization.

19. I like your list and wish to add one more thing...
A complete exposure of the Carlysle Group to include who belongs, details of their holdings and how they spend their money. Exposure of their mission statement, if there is one, would be very interesting too.

3. We are teaching our children awful lessons on many fronts...

How to lie and get by with it.

How to kill and torture others in the world, thus losing all respect we once deemed so important.

How to cheat, lie and defraud to steal from the public coffers and escape any possibility of being charged with a crime, and,

How to bring about derision among friends and neighbors in the quest for a new leader who will lift us out of this abyss.

Pretty sad, isn't it? We knew this was going on, but stood by and let it happen. I, for one, am ashamed I was one of the weak. I didn't mean for it to be that way. Nobody heard my pleas. However, at the same time, I didn't raise my voice as I should have. I am at fault.

I want my voice so I can stand and fight for what's right!

7. Simple request
all I want is 20 million dollars or so, so I can take my son (age 3), and Wife and FLEE this country before the Shithouse burns Down and the doors slam shut.. Before you have to get your "Church KKKard" Punched or you cannot buy groceries or own property.. Before they Implement the Corporate Prisons where Liberals, writers, gays, actors, bloggers, etc work all day in a cell as a Travel agent online for the Rich, getting a bowl of oatmeal for their daily meal..

The smart Jews with any money at all got OUT Before the Nazis put the screws to them (though I am not trying to demean the bravery of those in the camps, or belittle the abject suffering, only drawing parrallels) , and we're only ONE faked Terror attack away from it, don't kid yourself..

If I have to walk away from Country, kith and kin to save my Boy, I sure as he'll Will..

It's Madness, you can't STOP it, and in many cases even Join if you wanted to, can't choose your Rich Parents if you try...

Yeah, all that and World Peace, which Bush Co in chains would constitute a giant leap in that direction :)
