Gay bashing world wide
It looks like the Netherlands is experiencing a rash of gay bashings--so they'll do a study on why.

Can anyone guess what drives people to act like this--can anyone help the Dutch noodle this one out?

1. Because they think they can get away with it.
Religious and social taboos enable, empower, and encourage people to act in uncivilized ways towards anyone who is different. Throw in 'commandants from God' and they actually fell it is their righteous duty to do so. In the article, the majority of the attackers were from Morocco and felt frustrated by Dutch society so they lashed out at what they thought to be the weakest part of that society.
