CNN/Amanpour Reports: Czar Putin
Edited on Sat Dec-01-07 06:30 PM by loindelrio
CNN Rebroadcast – Sat. Dec. 1 & Sun. Dec.2, 10:00 P.M. Eastern

In a nutshell, Putin is implementing a Russian version of the ‘China Model’ (see below).

At approx. 14 min.

CA: How many journalists have been killed since 1991, since the Yeltsin period?
Simonov (Russia Journalist): 220.
CA: And of those, how many have been properly investigated?
Simonov: 5, or 6.

CA: Simonov says Russian police solve 80% of the murders here, but only 6% when they involve a journalist.

At approx. 42 min.

Interviews with 20-30 something upwardly mobile Russians. Paraphrasing ~ The economic conditions are good, so don’t have a problem with Putin, and politicians don’t listen to the people anyway, so why bother.

Clips of Russian reality show ‘fashion court’. Young Russian adults excited about sports, shopping, etc.

Reminded me of another failing Democracy.

But, for me, the money shot was at approx. 24 min.

Wait for it . . . .

The Putin Youth Movement

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4491633.stm

Seems Vlad is indoctrinating the youth in Russia in an anti-American, Russian resource nationalist, pro-oligarchic capitalist ideology. The anti-American sentiment is directed toward the belief that the US will eventually try to steal their resources. Kinda like ‘Jesus Camp’ if it was run by AEI.

To some degree, more blowback from the neocons militaristic adventures. Would have been a lot harder for Vlad to spin a Bill Clinton style administration as an imperialist.

CA: We saw you outside the American embassy carrying a pig. Why so bitter?

Maxim Mishenko (Putin Youth leader): These piglets symbolize Russians who look for directions from the United States (ed. he goes on to paint Kasparov as an American lackey).

CA: Where does Mr. Mishenko get these ideas? From President Putin, himself.

CA goes on to describe summer indoctrination camps youth are sent to.

CA: Do you think the American administration has a plan against Russia?

Mishenko: Yes, I think so, because Russia has 1/3rd of the worlds resources. The US needs this oil, if not now, then later. When this happens, the world will be shaken by colossal wars, and I want my people to be ready for this.

Mishenko speaking at rally: When we started this battle, we didn’t know the enemy within, or who feeds the dragon that’s trying to destroy our country, and drink its blood, our oil. America is feeding the dragon called ‘The Other Russia’ (ed. this is Kasyanov’s party).

So, there you have it. Vlad preparing storm troopers for the coming resource wars.

Basically, it looks to me, if we don’t change course, that Putinism, Republicanism, and to a lesser degree Jintaoism has the world on an express train for the worlds final global resource war. I’m sure there will be local resource wars over women and hunting grounds after this one, but . . .

China Model

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hu_Jintao

What emerges in the view of President Hu is the "China Model," a systematic approach to national structure and development that combines dynamic economic growth, a free market energized by a vigorous “nonpublic” (i.e., private) sector, unrelenting political and media control, personal but not political freedoms, concern for the welfare of all citizens, cultural enlightenment, and a synergistic approach to diverse social issues (the Scientific Development Perspective) that lead, in Hu’s vision, to a Harmonious Society. Beijing sees its China Model as an alternative to Washington’s Democracy Model, particularly for developing countries. In President Hu’s words, "A harmonious society should feature democracy, the rule of law, equity, justice, sincerity, amity and vitality." Such a society, he says, will give full scope to people's talent and creativity, enable all the people to share the social wealth brought by reform and development, and forge an ever closer relationship between the people and government.

2.  US will eventually try to steal their resources
sounds a pretty fair assessment. I believe the US already said that the resources of Siberia are too great for any one country to control.

4. There seems to be a virus .....
.....going around amongst the world leaders.

First, Bush wants to be a dictator and works toward that goal, then Chavez wants to be in power forever, and Putin wants to be the next Czar. Power corrupts. We should go to a one 4 yr term limit and leave it that way. The less time they are in power, the less powerful they ARE.

7. CNN was promoting that all week. Russian Youth=Hitler Youth only they Hate USA
instead of the German Jews.

Given what CNN has become...I wouldn't waste my time on it. The promo was so inflammatory...I figured Bush & Neocons might be planning to hit Russia at the same time as Iran using whatever stockpiles we have saved up for Nuclear Holocaust under Bush/Cheney.

CNN is US PRAVDA..

8. I found it very informative

Gave me some perspective on what a brave individual Gary Kasparov is.

I apologize for not being ideologically pure in my selection of sources of information.

10. "...an express train for the worlds final global resource war." I believe you've nailed it. (rec'd)
Very interesting and informative post, thank you.

I’m sure there will be local resource wars over women and hunting grounds after this one, but . . .

True, that...
