Katrina Vanden Heuvel kicks ass on "This Week with Stephanopoulos"
Edited on Sun Dec-02-07 11:45 AM by Cyrano
Having to sit there with George Will, Peggy Noonan and Elisabeth Bumiller, Katrina Vanden Heuvel got in what should have been enough to bury a maniac like Huckabee.

She related how, as governor of Arkansas, Huckabee blocked an abortion to a retarded young girl who was raped by her father. She also got in how he didn't believe in evolution. Will was tapping his fingers and looking away and Noonan was staring up at the lights. Both were trying to make believe she wasn't even there saying anything of importance.

Any Iowa fundies watching this morning's show should have been shocked by the rape story, but who knows what goes on in the "minds" of some of these throw backs?

A thousand cheers for Katrina Vanden Heuvel, a magnificent liberal voice (and a beautiful woman both physically and intellectually).

I don't know if they rerun "This Week," but catch it if you can.

3. I have been skipping George Snuffaluffagus lately. Thanks for
mentioning this. Right now, Huckabee is looking very reasonable to alot of rightwingers. But his block of that abortion and his idiocy over evolution are unacceptable.

George Will and Noonan are sticking their collective heads up their butts in ignoring the stupidity of their candidates. The deserve the disappointment they received with Dumbya, but we don't.

5. I felt sorry for Katrina...
She had to sit next to Noonan and suffer that deranged nitwit sighing and swooning and overemoting in her ear. That had to be a horrible experience.

Agree that Katrina was perfect as always.

6. Katrina Vanden Heuvel is a brilliant woman that has stood the test
of time and has taken down virtually everyone that has taken the bush line.

When she is given the opportunity to speak, she devastates those who toe the neo-con line. As honest as the day is long, and filled with facts, she is a force to be reckoned with, and the conservatives are truly terrified of her.

The Nation, under her, has turned a profit for the first time, and subscriptions are higher han they've ever been, showing me that when people find out about The Nation, Katrina, David Corn, et al, they tune in...searching for truth and facts, they look to outlets like The Nation....the RW is skating on paper thin ice if they try to take on Katrina.

I have to smile thinking about her on Matthews about a year ago...she shut him down, (not an easy task), and he looked like he had just been slapped silly when KVH was done with him...red face. jaw dropped...Jeez, it was a sight to behold.

God I love that woman...

9. George Will is the anti-Katrina Vanden Heuvel. Scientific studies have revealed
that there are only three people in the western hemisphere who have ever read a George Will editorial column to the end without dozing off.

Even more unusual is that I've met people who are unaware that the "Editors Cut" column in "The Nation" is written by Katrina Vanden Heuvel. (Her name is never at the end of the column since she is the editor.)

17. George Will is nothing more than a bush swill merchant....
as is Noonan.

Neither of them can hold a candle to KVH...but I have to say I'd spend good money to see KVH and Coulter on the same show...KVH would eviscerate her, and do it with class! It wouldn't even be close to fair, and to see Coulter's head explode would be worth every penny...

14. Nooners looked like she was doing her best to resist going Freddie Krueger on Katrina
Peggy was looking none too happy, and George Fwill seems to have a little hissy every time Katrina's on Thi Weak. Definitely an improvement over Cokie "Schoolmarm Smarm" Roberts and Sam "Worst Rug Ever" Donaldson.

18. I was impressed with her, the first time I saw her on "This Week",
Edited on Sun Dec-02-07 03:42 PM by Uncle Joe
that episode had Sam Donaldson, George Will and Cokie Roberts on and Katrina just dominated them. I was equally impressed this morning and it seemed to me Stephanopolous was quicker to cut her off than he was the others, just as her momentum was building.

I believe, she should run for office.
