Huge pink blocks are signs of hope in Lower 9th Ward (Brad Pitt & Angelina help)

<snip> On Monday at 11 a.m., actor Brad Pitt is scheduled to stand in the surrealistic scene and announce details of his "Make It Right" project, a plan to create more than 100 affordable, ecologically sound homes where the pink shapes now stand.

On Nov. 9, at the Clinton Global Initiative in Manhattan, Pitt pledged $5 million to the project, challenging others to match his largess. Producer and environmental philanthropist Steve Bing contributed $5 million. A team of architects led by John Williams of New Orleans began designing the homes.

</snip>

so glad to see these actors and actresses continuing to help new orleans when congress and republicans have failed our country while they waste money on bombs, bullets, and killing people - the 'do gooders' as the talk show idiots call liberals - well they are doing what the rest of us do not have the funds to do - this is terrific

Harry coniff, ellen, and others continue to help - this is so great

Having watched Bush genocide the area by denying access to people who had been willing to go in and help - kept food and water from them - then scattered them all of the country to dilute the democratic base -

this whole thing still makes me enormously angry - the media originally reported like they used to do news but then they became the corporate slaves again -

I still remember Bon Jovi giving a million dollars to oprah fund that was helping build houses(habitat) and put stuff in them

HArry has paid for whole neighborhoods with habitat building the homes

6. I had never heard that, which is an indication of how it wasn't brought to
our attention. America.

9. Did it get ANY media attention? And our representatives should have been
SCREAMING about this at the top of their lungs! I'd like to ask each of our candidates about this directly, face to face. And give them all the time they needed to respond so we didn't just hear a 'campaign answer'.

10. Yes, it was in the media, but ignored.
Not front page, but I no longer pay much attention to corporate media, and *I* saw it.

And, yes, I wish you WOULD/COULD ask all our candidates!!!

What I'm most concerned about is our own Dems, and our own "activists".

Peace people seem to believe that they are above issues like this, and raise not so much as an eyebrow. (Except to scream about *, of course.)

If all the liberal activists had expressed outrage, you can bet your bippy it would have been in the news!!!

We poor folk are invisible, to the liberals, as well as the conservatives.

4. 10 million would buy very little by the time the sharks got to it.
Anymore any sort of construction seems to be measured out in 100's of billions.
