From toilet to tap

I don't know anything about this, but I just heard a piece on NPR about treating sewage with advanced methods and using it as drinking water. The piece focused on Orange County CA. There's an instinctive ewww factor here for me. Anyone else know about this?

astronauts do it.

And the crap they have to remove from some water supplies is nearly as disgusting - and perhaps more unhealthy, sometimes.

3. rest assured that none of the bushes, cheneys, rices et all will be drinking treated sewage water...

that will be only for the rest of us (right here in jeb's florida) as they too have been talking about it for a while now.
