US withdraws Annapolis resolution

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/E1EF42BE-882F-4242-BF6C-F1834659FE50.htm

The United States has withdrawn a resolution it presented to the UN Security Council endorsing the relaunch of Middle East peace talks agreed in Annapolis, Maryland.

US officials did not give a reason for Friday's move but diplomats indicated that Israel, which is a close ally of Washington, did not want the UN involved in the process.

2. Annapolis has too be the lowest key peace conference in the history of the world
Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 11:32 AM by wuushew
so low key in fact that it is rapidly disappearing from the collective memory.

Since the outcome was never in doubt, I can only think that it was scheduled solely for the purpose of generating more money for some anonymous hotel owner/GOP donor during what would have otherwise been a slow time of the year. :tinfoilhat:

6. maybe it was a 'threaten' meeting instead of a peace meeting
