We're tougher than that
For years we've been ridiculed, attacked, despised, and marginalized, our words of warning falling on deaf ears because we couldn't shout as loud as the corporate media could parrot the right wing's talking points. Unrepetent radio loudmouths and slash-and-burn style "authors" did their level best to label liberals as weak-minded, barely literate would-be traitors.

The Republican Party as a whole set out deliberately to destroy the Democratic Party, maybe even going so far as to plant operatives within the organization to help affect this agenda.

Over the past several years they've also done everything in their power to cripple our government, borrowing money from countries with whom we should barely be trading at all, much less relying on to maintain our economic strength and wage our so-called "war on terror."

When they told us that Iraq would be a cakewalk, we told them it wouldn't. That its costs would be ultimately incalculable. They laughed at us and called us weak. They called us "appeasers" and suggested that we'd send the likes of Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden to counseling rather than punishing them for their crimes. That our need to understand our enemies was a weakness rather than a strength.

You can't truly fight an enemy you don't understand. Bush and Company has proven this adage time and time again. Their war simply made more enemies, and turned the rest of the world against us. Now we're facing one of the most critical election cycles in our nation's history, but thanks to the complicity of the corporate media in perpetrating this scam on the American people, too few folks understand precisely what we're up against.

But despite the beating we've taken, despite the mockery and the slander that's been pitched in our direction, we keep moving forward against the tide. There are some who have fallen by the wayside, or been co-opted by our adversaries, but there are still many dedicated to fighting the good fight, telling the truth, and getting the word out.

They thought they could bring us down.

They were wrong.

1. They may bring us down yet
But good ideas stand on their own, and bad ones can only stand with the force of the sword.

If not now, then at some point in the future, people will start to understand just how bad the ideas being offered by the right wing noisemakers are for them.

3. "You can't truly fight an enemy you don't understand"
And that enemy is us.

That's where they fucked up.

I read your post three times through, Saje.

Thanks.

4. Repukes prove that they will do anything criminal to get their way.

It is a good thing Dick & Bush are destroying the GOP. Republican is turning into the L word all over the land. The rolls are reversing. The Truth always stays on our side. Their lies are not working. Even with the M$M controlling everything, it is not enough.

Globally the GOP will lose and lose big in America. People know that they hate the military, hate average citizens, hate minorities, hate the Constitution and hate peace and happiness.

Dems watch as the GOP goes into 'criminal overdrive' as more rats leave the ship.
