The US is now the only industrialized country
that has not ratified Kyoto.

<snip>
Australia now leaves the United States isolated as the only developed country to reject ratifying the Kyoto Protocol.

In a separate press conference, Arthur Runge-Metzger, head of the European Commission's delegation, said Mr Rudd's act will put pressure on Washington to get involved in the climate change negotiations more seriously.

''I don't think it will put pressure on the Bush administration to ratify Kyoto, but at the same time I believe it will put pressure on the US to become serious in being part of a post-2012 agreement,'' he said.

4. We ratified the Kyoto Treaty under the past Liberal government but
our current phony conservative (neocon north) government won't adhere to any of it's positions and is following bush's "leadership" (lol) on this issue. They don't have the guts to formally withdraw because they know Canadians overwhelmingly support the ideals behind the treaty so they just work hard, real hard at undermining it.

I and others will be working hard, real hard at turfing their butts out of office in the next election which could come any time between January 08 and 2009.

8. We were for Kyoto before the neoconservatives got into minority power. We will be for Kyoto again
once we vote them out.
