I got a letter from Karl Rove today asking for contributions
It was supposed to go to the lady who use to live in this house.

Any good suggestions on what I should do with it?

4. My Dad use to fill the envelopes with computer cards back in the 70's
causing it to weigh enough that they had to pay extra for the postage. I hardly feel like a few cents is enough punishment though. I want to do something really special with it.

3. That's so odd. I sent Karl a letter today asking him for money.
I guess I probably won't be getting any cash from MC Rove.

5. You could ....
Send it back with a dollar roll of pennies ... and include a note that says "Stick this up your A$$".

But use the other person's name on the return address. :-)

12. Another Alternative ...
You could send back a message that says ...

"Instead of donating money directly to the RNC, I have decided to support your efforts by sending $10 to Feed the Children.

Did you know that Feed the Children can take $10 and send eight 3rd world kids to community college? Did you know that $10 is enough to get 20 illegal aliens 'relatively safe transport' into the US where they can receive full benefits from Mike Huckabee?

And isn't that what we all want?"

13. Tell him you just received
a cashier's check for $5,000, but only want to donate $2,500 to the cause. Let him know you'll endorse the check over to him, and have him send you $2,500 by Western Union when he receives the check. You know he's a trustworthy guy and will keep up his end of the bargain.

By the way, don't lick the envelope, whatever you send. I wouldn't put it past them to trace your DNA.

16. Send them a check for one dollar. No kidding.
They'll spend more than that in postage sending more pleas to you before the New Year.

IIRC, Thom Hartmann did this often.

19. Postage paid return envelope?
Oh, the possibilities....

Every now and then, we need to revive old threads about how to use those postage paid return envelopes. Some cool ideas in there.

One gem was to send a very small check back. It keeps you on their mailing lists, which gives you a bit of insight to what they are asking their minions to do AND costs them $$. A small donation can actually end up as negative money for them.

Then there is the 'tape envelope to a brick' school of thought.

And if you have a dog.... ;)

Dear Mr. Rove,

I would love to send the RNC money, however the federal income taxcut I received was insufficient to cover the cost of my local tax increase.

Extra money I may have had is currently being used to cover the increases in gas, heating fuel, utility bills, credit card interest, and mortgage payments. I was hoping to that my 3% payraise would help ease my financial burdens, but the decrease in the value of the dollar and increase in health insurance co-pays have wiped that out. All in all it has had the effect of an income decrease over the past 7 years.

I am patiently waiting for the trickle down, when it occurs I will be sure to send in a few drops.

Sincerely,

on edit: also include a PS -- I am returning the materials sent to me in hopes you may be able to resend them to a member of President Bush's base - The Haves and Have More. Perhaps they will thank you for doing a heckava job and generously donate.

26. If you got a postage paid envelope with that,
I'd suggest you neatly cut up one of the Christmas catalogs that appear in your mailbox and neatly fill the envelope as much as you can, duct tape it shut and send it back. The return postage should be somewhere around $2.50 or so.

(My best effort to date is $2.63, but that was before the postal rate increase.)

29. I always sent the post-card sized magazine inserts...
For informational purposes, of course.

The small check idea is excellent, but most of us have spent years trying to get off the mailing lists of corrupt groups and vampires.
