DU this poll: About the shooting in Pasadena Texas
The 911 operator told him not to leave the house, but he did.
He shot two people in the back, twice and killed them.
They were not stealing from his house.

Article and poll "Should the Pasadena man who shot two alleged thieves be prosecuted?" at the bottom right.

1. My, the choices are a bit skewed:
"Yes, he broke the law when he shot the men" and "No, he did the right thing." What he did was not against Texas law, but that doesn't make it right.

2. Wouldn't let me vote without registering
The more I learn about this piece a shit the lower my opinion of him gets. He seemed awful anxious to shoot these two creeps. And WTF is up with the chanting "USA! USA!" anyway? Demonization of immigrants/Hispanics perhaps?

Nevertheless I can't work up a lot of sympathy for the two assholes that got blowed away either.

3. I see Pasadena has changed little since the days of "Urban Cowboy"

except Gilley's burned down. We use to play "Name That Hydrocarbon" every time we drove through Pasadena and caught the smell of the day.

The guy wasn't protecting his own "castle" so the law says he had no right to shoot and should be prosecuted. If he's not prosecuted, authorities are allowing vigilante justice. Do we want law and order or not. Real plain and simple.

4. K&R: I voted no.

Texas law permits someone to use lethal force to stop a burglary of a third party. I am sympathetic to those who say he did not meet the conditions of the law.
