NY Post, NY Daily News 2002: Bill Clinton Seen Dating Belinda Stronach & Lisa Belzberg
Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 11:48 PM by Dems Will Win
Belinda and Lisa

According to Huffington Post, Bill Robinson, the NY Times and the LA Times are sitting on a "Big Clinton Story" that involves his affairs since leaving the White House. Clearly a lot of Indie and other voters would not want to put Bill back in there to cheat again on national TV, just too plain old embarassing.

Look, I am concerned. I've just spent two weeks travelling and speaking with media elites in L.A., Chicago, NYC, and D.C. and among other things, I was repeatedly told that The New York Times and The L.A. Times are "sitting on a BIG Clinton story." What concerns me is that this story has nothing to do with Hillary, her policy positions, her record, or her presidential potential. The "big story" everyone is sitting on apparently has to do with the many current affairs of Bill Clinton, whom, they will allege, has a gal in every port.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-robinson/the-big-clinton-story_b_74391.html

Result is Hillary is a weak nominee and may not be able to win nationally with such a headwind. The newspapers are sitting on these alleged affairs, already reported in the press, perhaps until after the primaries and hoping to kill the Democrat's chances? This is from September 2002 and seems to be what the HuffPo was speaking of a few days ago:

Clinton seen with new blonde
Mark Coleman In New York

BILL Clinton’s chequered love life became the source of fresh speculation yesterday after he was spotted with yet another blonde.

The former US president is reported to have shared an intimate dinner with Belinda Stronach, a married business woman.

According to reports, Mr Clinton, 56, wined and dined Ms Stronach, 35, the head of an international car parts company, in Toronto.

The pair have apparently struck up a cosy friendship and were caught embracing at the end of the evening.

"Clinton gave her a peck on the cheek before she got into her car," the New York Post reported. Another tabloid, the Daily News, pronounced that the two "had dinner and were seen embracing before they parted".

The papers said that the couple appeared to be fairly close, exchanging fond glances as they walked around the city.

Mr Clinton, who was in Toronto for a party honouring the musician Ronnie Hawkins, who has been diagnosed with cancer, twitched awkwardly with his mobile phone after realising that he and Ms Stronach, who was wearing a black dress and diamond necklace, were being followed by photographers.

The revelations are bound to renew consternation between Mr Clinton and his wife Hillary, to whom he has been married for 26 years.

Four months ago Mr Clinton was linked with another blonde socialite, Lisa Belzberg, 38, who is also a Canadian.

http://news.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=173&id=1036682002

According to 6/12/02 Page Six of the New York Post: WHATEVER there was between Lisa Belzberg and Bill Clinton, it appears to be over. Belzberg, the brainy blonde behind the PENCIL nonprofit group that helps the public school system, was rumored to be more than friends with the former president, who lives just 10 minutes away from the mother of two in Westchester. "She's heartbroken," said one source. But there is little chance of reconciliation with her husband, Matthew Bronfman. The Seagram heir, who split with Lisa in February, is said to be very happily dating a fashion industry executive, Stacy Kaye.

Inside Politics 6/13/02: "The New York Post reported yesterday that the relationship between former President Bill Clinton and Lisa Belzberg 'appears to be over.' If we do the math, that means that Mr. Clinton and the pretty blonde socialite lasted seven weeks. "Tabloid rumors of a romance between the two appeared around April 23, claiming the pair met at a Christmas party last year. Mr. Clinton behaved like 'a big old hound dog' and later, trysts reportedly took place in mid-afternoons on the 24th floor of New York's chichi Hudson Hotel."

Let's get this out in the open BEFORE the primary, not AFTER. I don't want to have to go through that sinking feeling again: when I first heard about Monica, and knew right then that Gore would have a strong headwind against him in 2000 because of a Bill Clinton affair. If this is true, and knowing Bill it probably is -- and most would believe it of him anyhow -- we could be setting the country up for 8 more years of a Republican White House.

This is what I am most worried about. I don't care who Bill sleeps with, but I do care when his philandering ruins the chances of the Democratic Party and they would most certainly skewer Hillary's chance in '08. Unfortunately, this would make Hillary unelectable IMHO.

What do you think?

I don't want to have to change my name to Dems Will Lose...

Edited on Mon Dec-03-07 11:44 PM by ixion
I can say that safely, because I'm one of them.

That said, I have other reasons why I believe Hillary Clinton would be a lousy candidate. And the reasons I believe this have nothing whatsoever to do with her (or Bill's) sexual preferences.

But...but...Hillary's a lesbian, isn't she?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN.

I'm sure they're waiting for the day before some Super Tuesday to dump this shitload. Which, please God, will finally end the meme that the MSM and the Republicans WANT Hillary as the candidate. And won't it be nice to see that out of the way, too.

40. That's Exactly The Game Plan, I Believe
always was. The publicons will ask if you want sleaze associated with the WH again. I heard this back in Jan, and was told there were two women, one married. The concern then was that Hil would get the nod and then get slammed. I don't care if he's having affairs. that's between them, but I can't help thinking that, as he knew a long time ago that she was going to run, couldn't he at least keep it zipped, for her sake, if nothing else? Seems Ford was right, he can't help himself.

from Clinton and his blondes, brunettes and redheads. Who's gonna care? FUX "News" viewers? Opinions have been set--do you really think a couple of blondes added to the line-up will change that? Look at his approval ratings as he left office. Americans realize it's part of who he is and quite frankly, would probably be more surprised if he didn't have a little sumthin' sumthin' on the side.

If anyone skewers Hillary's chance in '08, it'll be Hillary.

this country has a prudish streak running through it. It could peel off enough votes to lose us the election. I don't give a shit and probably neither does most of this board but there it is. This election will be an uphill battle when you add on the MSM and the voting machines. The last thing we need is the public to shift from the issues to a full tilt MSM 24/7 breathless discussion of Bill's love life.

36. We shall see.
Factoring in Clinton's approval ratings as he left office, the country being subjected to eight years of President Shit-for-Brains, and the lousy state of the economy, they might just tune out "breathless discussion of Bill's love life." I'm hoping we've reached the saturation level on that topic, and yes, I do know that hope springs eternal.

The election will be an uphill battle no matter who our nominee. If it's not Bill's babes, it'll be Obama and the fictitious madrassa education, or Edwards the Trial Lawyer, etc. One thing is for certain: what they did to Gore and Kerry will seem like child's play.

37. What worries me is that Hillary is already at 50% Unfavorable, Bill having affairs
would easily push her a few points beyond that and then she cannot win the Presidency.

That's the problem here. If her unfaves were lower, not that big a problem.

But at 50% negative already, Bill's canoodling could put her in the hopper -- as enough Indies and Repubs and yes Dems will not want to see more philandering in the WH and don't see a big diff between the parties (LIKE THEY SHOULD!)--especially if the candidates are Corporatist Hillary and Populist Huckabee.

It is no surprise to me that this kind of crap would come up and I suspect the voters also have already taken into account Bill's "reputation" as to whether they will support Hillary Clinton or not. Crap like this will do nothing of substance except provide fodder for those who already enjoy telling lurid jokes and they have never entertained the thought of supporting Hillary Clinton anyway, imo.

I would be very angry if they spring this on us after the primary.

while he was married to wife #2.

I think whatever Bill Clinton is or isn't doing with his dingus pales in comparison.

Beyond that, it's time for everyone- media included- to grow up. If everyone is a consenting adult and laws aren't being broken, it shouldn't be "news".

29. A 61 Year Old Man Dating?
Did they pass notes in the lunchroom? Did he give them his class ring? Dating? WTF is that?

Be assured Bill Clinton and the Clenis have been under media scrutiny virtually every moment since he left the White House. Here's a man who had bypass surgery and maintains a busy schedule...somehow the word "dating" doesn't quite cut it.

But that won't stop the corporate media from holding a circus if there's any near validity...meaning Clinton was shown to be alone with these or any woman...if they can run with a smear and rumor, they will. And there will be those who are outraged, but they're the same people who are looking for any reason NOT to vote for Mrs. Clinton.

I've long expected this shit to come out...true or not...it doesn't matter. All a stenographer has to do is put it out there and "the village" will dance accordingly. Rushbo will sound his "moral indignation", Tweety will lather at how slimy both Clintons are (while totally ignoring Rudy) and the media storm will follow. Better get it out of the way now and see where the chips fall. Right now Hillary has more problems in her campaign than the Clenis, but that won't stop the corporate media...especially if they smell blood.

so, if he is having multiple affairs, Hillary must know about it. I doubt he has much private time at all.

And, Bill is smart enough to know that he's being watched constantly and that every time he even shakes a woman's hand, people in the press will speculate that he's having an affair with her...

34. So what is Murdoch keeping this from blowing up worth to Hillary and Bill?
Gee - Jackson Stephens (BCCI figure) switched his support from his longtime friend and partner Poppy Bush (who expected to be impeached after BCCI report) to Bill Clinton, and when Bill took office all the outstanding matters in BCCI conveniently went away.

Even Marc Rich - another named figure in BOTH IranContra and BCCI - ended up pardoned.

Then the Dems are probably screwed by all the hoopla, let's say the week before the convention. You can't trust Murdoch and Ailes, they ahte Hillary and kiss up to her because she's their Senator and regulating them. But if they can get her they will.

Right now they are keeping their powder dry.

61. Remember when Bush and Condi went on their date in Australia?

Bush was joined by Rice and Ambassador Robert McCallum. Outside the sandstone, Tudor-styled, shuttered home, the prime minister awaited the president’s arrival. Howard and wife Janette greeted Bush, who expressed his eagerness to see photographss of their new grandchild. Then Rice arrived, greeted the prime minister and wife, and, with photographers looking on, the president sheepishly reached out to Rice’s arm.

“She can be my date,'' Bush said.

51. So, we are to believe he had a PUBLIC affair with these women? Wherever Bill goes, people KNOW him.
I honestly don't think he's stupid enough to do this. Why should we believe this? Have the women come forward?

So he had dinner, in a public restaurant, with a *gasp* woman, of all things... and "pecked her on the cheek." And THIS is a full-blown affair? And as for the other other woman, "one source said, 'she's heartbroken.'"

Good grief.

Come on.

Not to be gross - and not to dump on the OP - but I'll believe it when they produce the blue dress.

56. Thank G-d, I thought it was just me
I didn't see anything in the above that indicated an affair. Dinner out, peck on the cheek - I do this all the time with male friends - even an embrace when the evening is over. Do they have pictures of something, a hotel bill, a stained dress???? This is such bull and reeks of desperation on the part of the pukes.

76. Is this what you're talking about?
"Inside Politics 6/13/02: "The New York Post reported yesterday that the relationship between former President Bill Clinton and Lisa Belzberg 'appears to be over.' If we do the math, that means that Mr.

Is there anything resembling proof of this tryst? Hotel bills, pics.....ANYTHING other than who knows who "reporting" this?

53. If it's true, it will play out at some point.
Unsubstantiated rumor, then it will be over. Rudy has similar gossip problems on the other side. I don't intend to address it until or unless it becomes mainstream. I'm worried about weightier issues.

55. The New York Times and The L.A. Times are "sitting on a BIG Clinton story."
Whoever is "sitting" on this story isn't doing a very good job. Maybe the reporters are underweight and the story flew right out from under their asses. This story has a raging passion to be free, don'tcha know? Oh look, it's flying above us right now! Hello flying sleazy story!

Dear New York Times and L.A. Times,

Please pay your reporters more money so that they may buy food. Try as they might, they are too underfed to effectively sit on stories anymore. One of their stories flew away and has built a nest inside Bill Robinson's head.

Sincerely,

~blogslut~

75. The writer at Huffington writes like the same silly sombitch
from Americian Spectator that wrote all the lies about Clinton in 92, 93.Hell, anyone with common sense would know the right wing will come after her with something sexual about Bill.I suspect that Bill and Hillary know this is coming and have protected themselves against this with accurate accounts of where, who Bill meant with and at the proper time will present said evidence and smear the right wing zealots.....Reads like a plan to me....

This hatred of HRC in here I shall call a fever reminds me of the GOP's impeachment fever back in 1998. Bill's impeachment was like a criminal assault and battery. NOTHING was going to stop that impeachment because the haters had the fever. The GOP was "caught up" with impeachment fever - that's all they could see or hear. Bill's approval rating was in the 70s - and voters clearly didn't want him to be impeached, but like the criminal who can't stop until he assaults enough, it was GOING to happen.

Hell, the GOP lost seats in November of 1998 - but that didn't matter to them. NOTHING was going to stop that impeachment because they had the fever. They lived and breathed impeachment the way some people are now living and breathing HATRED and Stop her!"

IF YOU,LIKE ANOTHER CANDIDATE BETTER THAN HRC,VOTE FOR HIM ...... But when I read some of the hatred directed towards HRC, you got the fever and that tells me something.

And to THOSE DEMOCRATS, that say "I won't vote or I'll vote Republican before I'll vote for Her," we need to worry because their "hatred and Stop her!" fever is turning them into what the GOP was in 1998.

Ben David

80. It's posts like this that may even make me vote for Hillary. Since when is DU
the Arkansas project?
Aren't there enough LEGITIMATE reasons to criticize Hillary on DU?
We need to go freeper? How so very disgusting!
And no, I won't use my vote to spite some DU poster - but it makes me want to stand by the Clintons when I read this trash - just as I did 6 years ago.
Rangel speech comes to mind: "Sometimes you know someone by those who like them, sometimes by those who hate them. There's nobody who tried to take this man down who didn't try to take us down"

It's a very deep feeling - withing a very large group of people - all Democratic voters - so think twice before you bring the 90's back!
