Bush: "That alcohol will get you everytime"...
yeah George, in your case, just about every day....:hangover:

The president seldom talks in public about his past struggles with liquor, but there seemed to be a touch of the personal in his response Friday to the founder of an AIDS service center in Zambia. During a meeting, she told Bush about how alcohol abuse has plagued some families that use her center.

"That alcohol will get you every time," Bush interjected.

1. Yeah, it definately "got" him - to the point of "dry drunk" syndrome
but is he really dry? I doubt it.

7. Does anyone really believe he reads the books he
says he has on his nightstand?

"...according to Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard. Bush has just finished "The Great Upheaval," Jay Winik's account of the revolutionary period of the late 18th century, and is now reading "A Confederacy of Dunces," the novel by John Kennedy Toole. Bush told the group he plans to turn next to a book about the 1800 presidential election, "A Magnificent Catastrophe," by Edward J. Larson."

I bet he reads the Jim Bean label every night.

8. "according to Fred Barnes"
I stop reading right there, because you know it's a total lie. Bush was having trouble with "My Pet Goat", so indeed, I highly doubt he's tackling anything more esoteric than that. His staff probably gives him the crib notes in case anybody asks. I'm sure that's what this "book club" is all about.
