Do you think the new NIE on Iran proves voting for Kyle-Lieberman was a mistake?
The U.S. government released a declassified summary yesterday of a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) which states Iran had stopped working toward a nuclear weapon in 2003.

Damn good someone in our government had enough guts to bring this to light, and at least report a truth which contradicts BushCo's paranoia. Many of us railed against the K-L vote as feeding our lame admin's war mongering bullshit.

Do you think this new development makes Kyle-Lieberman a moot point and should those that endorsed it (including Hillary) now step back and admit it was much ado about nothing? That K-L, like the IWR, was a mistake?

9. We have known that on DU, but out in la la land...
The spinners like to justify their actions as based on some kind of reality. With the NIE, we have anecdotal evidence that Iran's threat to the U.S. was way over stated.

It will give those politicians that bought K-L's propaganda a swift kick in the ass. It says to them that those who saw K-L as giving Shrub a war button to push (for no reason) as both correct in our suspicions and doubts.

Of course it was a mistake! So was the IWR. Though this time we have proof BEFORE BushCo started another war that there is faulty intelligence. Too bad we did not have the same vigilance before Shrub invaded Iraq.

2. with or without the NIE, it was a mistake
The NIE just supports the fact that you can't trust the spin that comes out of the administration. Those dems who voted for Kyl-Lieberman should have recognized that and voted nay instead of yeah!

A serious lack of good judgment and analytical skills is present in all dems who voted for the amendment.

3. wasn't Kyle-Lieberman more specific to Iran's revolutionary guard
and labeling them "terrorists", and not really about Iran's nukes?

8. The resolution and Hillary said the RG was behind attempt to get nuclear arms.
So quoteth today's New York Times:

In fact, in September Mrs. Clinton, Democrat of New York, voted in favor of a Senate measure declaring the Iranian Revolutionary Guards "proliferators of mass destruction," a vote that was condemned by her rivals in the Democratic field. After the vote, her aides issued a statement saying, "The Revolutionary Guards are deeply involved in Iran's nuclear program.

4. It proves one of two things as well
Either there was a lot of arm twisting and threats taking place to get the measure approved

OR

Those in Congress are stupid and will buy any bull shit.

5. It didn't need to be proven--all that needed to be done was considering who was in the WH.
Do you honestly think they won't find another sorry excuse to attack Tehran?

6. Should they admit it was a mistake? Absolutely--I might even put HRC back into
consideration if she does--but I don't think I need to worry my pretty little head about THAT happening...
