Thieves Steal Holiday Decorations From Neighborhood

ARREDONDO FARMS, Fla. -- A Grinch may be lurking among a Central Florida neighborhood, stealing holiday decorations, reindeer and a baby Jesus.

Police said three homes in a neighborhood near Gainesville have been targeted.

A resident said her entire nativity scene, including baby Jesus, was stolen.


Other residents said they worry their decorations will be stolen, too.

She was asking for that damn thing to be stolen. Everyone knows that a nativity scene isn't supposed to have a little baby Jesus until the 25th.

of why even have a nativity scene before the 24th? Joseph and Mary didn't check in a month early to sit by the pool and drink mojitos.

I'm really not going to go into what was done to it exactly but suffice it to say if the curch had caught us they would have burned us all at the stake. Probably the 666 we wrote on its forehead would have irked them the most.

...some friends and I boosted a baby hayzooz from a nativity scene in a garden beside the local catholic church. We painted it brown/black (except for the diaper) and replaced it before dawn, then lurked to watch as the early shift of church ladies arrived for six o'clock mass.

Short story: it was impossible to watch that much outrage and keep silent. We ran away howling with laughter and barely escaped the clutches of the highly pissed off priest.

These days, we would have been arrested as anti-religious terrorists, renditioned somewhere offshore and tortured until we confessed to anything they accused us of. But at least we're fighting the terrorists in Iraq so we don't have to fight them over here.

the earth was indeed dark skinned, I cannot recall the proof they gave because it was a long time ago but I recall thinkiing then it made sense and why not?
