5. The damage in both states is incredible
I live in Portland and drive each day to Centralia, WA, halfway between Portland and Seattle. Needless to say, I'm home today.

Right now, I-5 near Centralia is ten feet under water. I-5 will likely be closed for several days. In Lewis County, the Chehalis River is at record flood stage, and people are being choppered off rooftops.

Same goes for the small town of Vernonia, OR. The Nehalem River surged through town yesterday and rose more than five feet in two hours. Most of the town is four or five feet under water.
