Republicans just lost one of their best hands for the 08 Elections and they know it

Republicans needed a clear and present threat to America to try to look tough and try to make the Democrats look weak going into the elections. The Iranian nuclear threat was just the hand they needed. They love trying to play the part of the protector of the American people. It's possible they never were going to attack Iran but they most certainly wanted to get as much mileage out of Iran's bogus deadly nuclear threat as they could. They would have loved trying to sound tougher than the Democratic presidential nominee in the debates talking about how they would blow Iran off the face of the earth while the weak Democrats just want to negotiate with all the crazed nuts. Or perhaps they really did want another war going into the elections. Fortunately the carpet was pulled out from under them! Now all they can do is say the threat is just as bad as it was and continue to play up the dangers of Iran even though the facts simply are against them. It's simply stunning to hear Bush continue to keep hyping the Iranian threat. They are trying to hold onto that good hand in the card game but it's just not going to fly now. We all know it was just a Bush Administration bluff. The curtain has been pulled back and the Wizard exposed.

So, the Republicans still have two hands they will likely try to play next year. They will hype up the threat of al-Qaeda and try to trump the Democrats on immigration. The Democrats better figure out how to neutralize them on these issues though I think the American people have caught on to them and their fear tactics.

2. I'm seeing a lot of stuff about taxes. It's Hillary/Taxes.
That's the message if there is anything about immigration it's about raising taxes to pay for illegal immigrant children heath & education.

4. Just because the NIE report
Edited on Tue Dec-04-07 09:44 PM by zidzi
showed the facts about Iran doesn't mean bushit won't bomb Iran like they did Iraq.

Thanks for making these points..I was wondering why they're in just a hurry to bomb Iran and this makes sense. Too bad the m$$$m didn't call them on it in 2003 when a lot of us knew it was all bullshit.

5. How is the peso vis a vis the dollar?
Because I'm thinking if Mexicans start rushing our borders to shop and then go home, the immigration problem just won't be the same.

Nobody wants to earn a dollar that isn't worth spit when it's sent home.

6. Immigration: We should begin by focusing on Employers.
They're coming here for the jobs.

There should be a "path to citizenship" but no special treatment for un-documented workers. I don't know what to say about the fact that there are sooooooo many of them. Does it just mean that whatever process is agreed upon, folks will be in the process waiting line, here or back in their own countries?

8. I agree

People also may want to start talking about how much prices will go up when there is no more cheep labor. If people start seeing onions and strawberry's costing twice as much because their is fewer people to fill those jobs or companies can't pay them under the table anymore, people might start changing their tune. It's one of those "Be careful about what you wish for because it might come true" kind of things.

9. They are putting a little different interpretation of the REPORT.
Framing is everything. Emphasis is very important. If you
listened to Fox tonight---not to much new. Framing placed emphasis
o the fact that Iran kept this secret before and could start it
at anytime.

Not to much emphasis in fact I did not get the idea that the
President did anything wrong.

11. Excellent points, Don Q!
The turds have been exposed for the lying, thieving, mass-murdering, NAZI bastard gangsters they are.

Again.

Now, though, the little turd from Crawford and his successors won't be ablt to cry "Wolf!"

May the Democrats and Republicans and Independents and Socialists and Greens and Libertarians and Whatevers find and express the word the American people need to hear: "Justice."

May We the People demand it.
