What the hells the matter with DU? Why aren't we CALLING our CONGRESSMEN RIGHT FUCKING NOW?
And demanding that they begin to hold hearings on this Iran NIE and the LIAR and his surrogates about their lies to the American people?

Come on people, get with the program our democracy needs you!

10. Incorrect. Our speaking out does matter -
Just a few years ago, a memoir was published (as per Thom Hartmann's description) in which it was revealed that Nixon and Kissinger were discussing dropping a nuclear bomb on Vietnam to shock the Vietnamese population into putting down their arms - so there would be a quick end to the war. As often as Nixon claimed that the protesters and angry citizens had no effect on his decision-making, it turns out that they did - Nixon did not drop a nuclear bomb because he feared the citizen reaction.

People should not fear their governments. Governments should fear the people.

6. Why don't I just marry my Congressional rep?
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 07:33 AM by Sentinel Chicken
That way I can be there day and night to nag them 24/7.

Shouldn't we expect them to do some things on their own with out our constant prompting?

8. Americans haven't collectively protested en masse over ANY frightful aspect of the past 7 yrs...
I wouldn't expect them to budge until perhaps it's too late...and I wouldn't even count on that.

13. Most of us have called, emailed and faxed our hearts out.
Unless Queen Nancy decides to hold Shrub accountable, it won't happen in a significant fashion. I have no idea what she's waiting for. This is the most incompetent, corrupt, evil bunch of people to ever set foot on White House grounds and they're getting away with everything.

14. I agree with your post. Like thousands of others, I'm Faxed and
e-mailed and phone called out. I literally do not know what else to do. I've gone top street side sign holding rallies (small but thats OK), have Impeach stickers on my car. I'm getting older and cannot really walk the streets with crowds of protesters but if they did such a thing, I'll find a way to be there.

The best voice we have now seems to be a certain newsman with courage beyond belief.
