Thomas Friedman thinks the World is Flat

How can the history of the 21st century be written before it was made? That's called "fiction".

For example, in some excerpts taken from a job search's stack of pamphlets, author Megan Meuli states:

* Meuli argues "There will always be professionals who are untouchable (always be employable) because they are so unique, like the cancer researcher for N.I.H. or J K Rowling".

* Meuli also says "The folks who need to worry are the "new middlers"; positions that can be outsourced, offshored, or removed via automation or technological advances."

She goes on to say that in order to become closer to a true untouchable, you need social skills and be great at collaborating. You know, have excellent communications and customer service skills. (And clean up the environment while we're at it)

Her biggie is this:

Essentially, we need to work well with others, have excellent communication and customer service skills, love what we’re doing, constantly look for new and improved ways of doing things, and be ready to personalize our services to not only individuals but to communities, oh, and don’t forget, clean up the environment while we’re at it! Sounds like a tall order and I’m tired just typing all this.

Wow. I wonder what she thinks of Reagan; Reagan wanted gruff, rugged individualism... plus, we tried the "let's be community" in the 1960s and what did we get? Charles Manson. What she should do is stop spitting out catchphrases and the obvious and figure out how to get people TO change.

CP + PQ > IQ

Curiosity Quotient plus Passion Quotient outweigh Intelligence Quotient. Okay, so a curious retard with an interest will do better than any person with innate, empirical knowledge - is that what Auntie Megan is trying to say?

Contrast those pamphlet excerpts with to first paragraph on her site:

Are you struggling to find an employment position that fits your interests, values, and lifestyle priorities? Do you need assistance writing a resume and cover letter, putting together a professional employment portfolio, finding job leads, or feeling confident about your interviewing skills? If so, I can help.

What's a "lifestyle"? Since when did people choose their personalities? A personality doesn't come in flavors like chocolate or raspberry; you can't swap one for another if you don't like it.

Sorry, but I managed to get all my jobs in life from having skills and technical knowledge. I've tried being the middle-manager, feces-selling salesman and that's not me. If that means I'm not good enough for this world, shje can let me know.

In his own mind. Cause he gets to write inane drivel and be treated as relevant and visionary.

edit: to make it even snarkier
