Islamabad, Dec 4: A burqa-clad suicide bomber blew herself up near a check post outside an intelligence agency office in northwest Pakistan today, injuring several people.
The bomber detonated the explosives near the check post on the outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Dawn News channel reported.
Several people were injured in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident.
The attack came as the Army launched a major operation against pro-Taliban militants in the Swat valley of the province.snip
Police said the woman, in her thirties, could be an Afghan national as she was wearing Afghan clothes. Dawn News channel said the woman was accompanied by another burqa-clad person believed to be a male who fled from the site soon after the blast.
