An idea on how to tell Pelosi we don't like her "window dressing" before Christmas...
Edited on Fri Dec-14-07 10:58 AM by calipendence
I was just thinking what would be cool is if right before the Christmas break with congress, we had delivered a huge window something like the following...

Bigger would be even better. And on top of it put a PILE of dressing on it that we'd be used to eating with our holiday dinners (aka "window dressing").

Make ABSOLUTELY SURE, that there are no giblets in this dressing. We do NOT want to send any confusing message about any sort of "guts" being in this dressing, of what we feel about the character of those on Capitol Hill now.

And then add a note with something like:

"Nancy, is this enough window dressing for you to MOVE ON from the charades so that you can get to the real important issues facing this nation soon? Aka impeachment, the Iraq War, etc.?"

Getting a window this large shouldn't be too hard.

Finding someone to cook all of the stuffing might be. Perhaps we might get a restaurant with a sympathetic owner that might help out. We could gather a set of paypal donations to help offset their expenses. And of course getting the congress to allow us to deliver it would be another thing. Delivering flowers is something I'm sure they're welcoming which we've done in the past. With this we might want to make sure that some form of media coverage is there to see it being delivered to ensure it gets dropped on Nancy's desk!

1. Why not just send some real window dressing, like a pair of drapes?

2. I guess I figure a steamy pile of dressing might be less confusing...
Visually it sends the message. Otherwise you have to read the accompanying card to understand what drapes might mean. But ideas like this to help bring the complexity of such an effort down might be helpful.

Transparent Window Dressing" on the box or envelope.

4. Nice idea too!

I still think something right before the holidays is necessary to get the word to her... Hopefully something big and visible so that if a local news TV camera catches it being delivered, it won't leave any doubt as to what it's trying to tell her.

Maybe something that adds that with "transparent window dressing" as you describe it, we can see that the emperor and the empress have no clothes!

5. We could send her a ficus -- those are fig trees.
There's a womens' lingerie retailer called figleaves. Maybe she could use a catalog. Maybe she likes dolmas.

6. Maybe you should write down everything she should do
and she could run around the House floor beating everyone into submission..

7. I tried that and all she did was disown me as a constituent.
Maybe we should decorate a nice Christmas ficus plant for her. That would be more impressive than cloth and would also make the point.
