Question about FireFox for the computer savvies...please...
I belong to a pay website called ancestry.com I suppose a lot have heard of it, it has the census and a lot of genealogy files. What I want to know is why, this site only, causes my browser FireFox to shut down and it kicks me off the net. It also used to do it when I had internet explorer. I have reported it to ancestry over and over and they say it is my browser. This site is the only one that does it, as I said. Does any of your computer knowledgeables know why.

1. Your best bet is to get an answer at the Firefox forums. They're really great about answering
questions there....or maybe do a search in the forum for your issue....it may have been answered already. Here's a link:

2. it does it with your IE too?
Do you have any popup blockers running? Ancestry.com runs all sorts of ads, and I'd bet they have cookies and other goodies as well.

3. It shouldn't kill the browser though... But hey, stranger things have happened!
I would with #1's suggestion...

4. I don't have Internet Explorer that I use anymore but it did do it
with both. And it is so frustrating they say it is my computer. You get into a census page and pop off it goes. After all the report this report that you can click on and restore the session, which you couldn't do with IE but it is annoying, big time.

5. To change the Firefox pop-up setting, Go to Tools (at the top of the page)>click on options>click on
"content">uncheck pop-up blocker.

6. I forgot to add that the same thing happens to me when I try to play Euchre on Yahoo.com
what I did end up doing was downloading an updated version of javascript. That helped, but it's still not perfect over there. I also have to turn off the pop-up blocker at yahoo. What OS do you use? XP?
