In the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq, the government's claims about weapons of mass destruction and terrorist ties to Saddam Hussein went mostly unchallenged by the media.

Four years after "shock and awe," how the government sold the war has been much examined, but a big question remains: how and why did the press buy it?

Look bad: the Washington Post, the New York Times, a host of TV networks, and many, many others.

Looks good: Knight Ridder.

Knight Ridder is, of course, no more.

I saw this a few months back at a theater near Dupont Circle. Absolutely everyone should see this.

I'm watching this with absolute amazement. I remember those times, of course, but no one has put the lies all together in one place like this. Just astonishing.

Why have * and cheney not been - not just impeached - but lynched, tarred and feathered, dragged out of DC behind frightened horses?

Oh, wait, I just remembered why.
