3. Yep, probably realizes he'll be exiled form all committees in 2009 anyway.

So he's thinking to escape the void by becoming the new chickenhawk VP, Dick Lieberman. Too bad for him and McCain too. This is a desperation move to rescue McCain's bid in the GOP primary, and one that will be counterproductive for him. Lotsa luck trying to impress Republican voters by reminding them how cozy you are with Lieberman.

I hope the two of them do end up running as independents. That should split the George Bush lapdog warmonger vote right down the middle.
