Oy, Cuyahoga County BOE can't decide whether to scrap electronic voting
Edited on Mon Dec-17-07 10:31 PM by OzarkDem
After Ohio SOS Jennifer Brunner did a masterful job of proving how easily the system can be corrupted; and after so many experts showed how the GOP rigged the vote in Cuy Co to help steal Ohio for Bush in 2004..

Sadly enough, some of the Dems on the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections still aren't convinced. Could it be because most of the Dems on the BOE are county employees placed there by their bosses and none of them have enough computer skills between them to send an email or do a Google search? Yes, it could.

Cuyahoga County elections board takes no action on voting machine swap

Even a marathon meeting that attracted interested parties from across the country could not compel the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections to drop its current touch-screen voting system.

After an all-day session, about six hours longer than usual, half of the board members said they opposed changing voting systems before the March 4 presidential primary - a switch Ohio's elections chief has urged.

"You would have to move mountains and rivers to convince me to install a new system before March," Board President Jeff Hastings said after the meeting, which was attended by voting-machine vendors from Nebraska and Texas.

...

The board's fourth member, Sandy McNair, said he was undecided. The board is to meet again either on Thursday or Thursday, Dec. 27.

2. Yep
I don't know why these Dem yahoos can't figure that out. I know one of them personally and I'm calling him tomorrow to say :wtf:

In their ignorance, they're setting up Cuyahoga County to help the GOP steal Ohio again,

3. Wow Still fighting for fair Elections out there and this is 2007/2008
These same people keep putting in the same information - they wonder why the get the same results
and will some day? still have to scrap these Junk machines - but after how many questionable elections (try telling the cop that pulled you over - uh? it's not me but my car that was going the wrong direction)

Shame, that some 3rd world country's can do a better job? How about we hire the postal company EXTRA to collect all Ballots and the Census department to count them? and save a trillion dollars? and take it out of these? Fill in blank here____________hands

4. Its been incredibly frustrating
trying to convince members of my own party on the Board - people who got their positions through patronage and know next to nothing about how computers work, let alone how they can be used to steal elections. The GOP and electronic voting machine companies know this and know exactly how to prey on them.

Even our own Dem Secy of State, Jennifer Brunner, has been unable to convince them. Its truly scary. If they don't get off their cans and clean the system up, I can guarantee the GOP will use Cuyahoga County again to steal Ohio.
