She's allegedly in North Carolina because that's where her paramour is... a former Edwards staffer, married, who 'fessed up to being the father of her unborn child. She's also issued a statement through her lawyer that Andrew Young, the former staffer, is indeed the father.

Let's not get into guilt-by-geography if we can help it.
