What I see in the new poll numbers...
Obama, Clinton and Edwards are all extremely viable candidates at this point. All the repubbies are tanking except Huckabee and Romney, but I think Hucky will permanently catapult over him soon after Iowa.

1. I think Romney's claim is overshadowed by Huckabees
I mean if you want the good Christian values, well Huckabee is more "Christian" than Romney. If you want an effective politician who will bomb the hell out of everybody, well Giuliani is more than than Romney. It's unclear why you would want to vote for Romney, or what he has that stands him apart from others.

2. Nice hair
and a good smile.

"Wow, he sure is good to look at. I feel calm when I look at Mitt."

Don't forget, we are a culture of image - and of fools.

The message was clear that repiglicons suck ass and none here will be voting for one.

9. You should not let your hatred override your reason
She referenced Romney and Huckabee in her post and that is what I am responding to.

5. Ms. Dare ...
I think you're right on the Republican side, good Christian values of the sort that keep Jesus in the promised land and away from the Apache will trump money and magic underwear. However I don't much agree with you on the Democratic slate. I read most of your posts and I notice that you often comment on mine so I think we both pretty much know (and it seems we also have a good deal of respect for) where the other stands. I think Obama is all fluff and campaign with little to no substance, Hillary is a blowhard with nearly no experience that is running on the Clinton name, and that Edwards is a one-trick-pony with his two-americans line and utter lack of international relations experience. Not one of our top three has shown the level of leadership that was shown by Chriss Dodd just this last monday and all three of them combined do not have the breadth of experience that Joe Biden has. Don't even get me started on the genius of Dennis Kucinich when it comes to policy formulation.

Anyway, I think you have mapped our future well. We're gonna win and it will be because of good people like you who have held out through the horror and are now about to have their own time in the sun.

6. I think we can agree the best doesn't always come out on top..
my candidate has NEVER won the primary Thom, and I was never very good at the horse track either...:P

You are correct about my main point though, at this point, it appears as though the Democrats are in a better position with their own voters than the repubs are.

We've got one year left, we just have to focus on surviving these next 11-13 months.

7. As my neighbors down the road would say,"Amen"
I has never bothered me all that much that my boy lost in the Primary of whatever state I happened to be living in that year. I always knew that in the end I would have a good Democrat to vote for even if the one that got my lever-pull wasn't the one I first had in mind. It will be that way next November when I step up again. The thing that has always bothered me is all of those good Democrats that I have voted for in the Big One that didn't win. I dam near broke down and cried the night Reagan won. I can not even explain what the mood was like around here that vile December night when the Court handed the election to it.

8. The Reagan election was unspeakably depressing..
I was a month away from my 18th birthday so I couldn't vote, but I did work for my local Democratic committee that year.

My husband knew not to even try to speak to me for about 24 hours after that horrible dreadful day in December of 2000.
