Today we were sad to learn that an accidental fire destroyed many sensitive documents housed in Vice President Cheney's office. This is a tragic event and our best wishes go out to the Vice President who had endure this dangerous situation.
To clarify what occurred, President Bush had spent the entire night thinking of new ways to develop alternative fuels. He came upon the idea of Methane gas as a fuel source for automobiles. He determined that Methane may be too combustible for use in automobiles but he wanted to be sure in order to ensure the safety of the American people. Since the science labs were closed for the night, the President went to see Vice President Cheney to seek his counsel.
The Vice President was also working all night to assemble the documents that the court has asked for. He wanted to provide the documents in a organized manner.
The President arrived at the Vice President's office and they began discussing the Methane idea. Having just consumed several breakfast burritos, the President decided to conduct some experiments by testing the flammability of the methane gas that he was expelling. One particular gaseous plume was ignited by the President and the resulting flames accidentally reached the Vice President's papers and destroyed them.
We will have no further comment as this is an ongoing investigation.
