Analyze This Photo!
Sorry it's so small but it's all I can find:

In this photograph provided by The White House, the vice president's ceremonial office is seen after a fire Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at the White house complex in Washington Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007.

1. Destruction for distraction and chaos,
profit, or just plain let's remodel the Cheney way? Where ever these guys are in charge destruction follows them. They are just too expensive to lead (is there anyone but the greedy following them?).

3. It's an old photo not the present condition?
It certainly needs some love and care don't you think? They could have done that without a fire.

5. The back two doors are boarded up.
I wonder what other rooms took damage.

It doesn't look like much was burning. Maybe they just filled the fireplace with papers, tapes and dvd's and let it get away.

9. According to the WAPO this morning..
it was contained to a closet. Most of the damage occurred due to smoke and water, as is probably the case with most fires.

12. Suskind describes Paul O'Neill's first metting with Bush
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 09:52 AM by underpants
He enters into an extremely dark conference room in a hotel in the DC area. While O'Neill's eyes are adjusting to the lack of light he senses something moving directly behind W. I mean RIGHT behind W. He can't figure out what it even COULD be and then he hears Cheney's voice. Dick, according to O'Neill, prefers things like that-pitch black he feels more comfortable in that setting.

Yeah it is like that.

so it sounds plausible to me.

7. The files we want are in his "man-sized safe" in his working office.
They wouldn't keep the good stuff in the ceremonial office.

11. The files we want are probably long gone..
this would make a convenient excuse for them to be missing though, would it not?

Remember the pics sometime back of the shredder truck pulling into the V.P.'s residence?

13. Had to Laugh
when I read about this. Sam Seder is filling in for Randi Rhodes and while talking about the destroyed torture tapes speculated that before leaving the White House the Bush administration will just torch the whole place to cover up all their crimes.
Maybe they are practicing!? :)

14. I love all those older buildings in Washington.. Its so grandiose..
I can just imagine big swoopy hooped dresses and gentlemen with gloves and tailcoats walking the halls... Look at those arches.. Still quite beautiful after all this time. Seems as though the table was burned.. what was on the table.. the pile of CIA tapes?

16. ABC News last night said the table was immediately removed for restoration. They are most concerned
about the wooden floors and water damage.

And that this administration makes a mockery of all that came before them... the least of which deserved such posh surroundings far more than BushCo.

22. That doesn't look like any server rack I've ever seen
and generally, servers that go into racks are very long to make up for their low height. Think about 40 inches deep.

Also, I've been through a house fire, and that's hardly a fire, there's hardly any smoke damage on the ceiling.

The fire happened in an office adjacent to Cheney's "ceremonial office". Is that correct?

19. All that smoke and little or no apparent damage?
What'd they do, stack all the boxes up in front of the windows, douse them with Dumbys's likker and light 'em up, or did Darth spontaneously combust?

26. Perhaps the fire damaged nothing much in reality
but was a staged fire and can be used as an excuse for "missing" data.
