Dennis Kucinich-Congressman of the Year!
Last night, the Patrick Henry Democratic Club of America announced its annual awards for 2007 and Dennis Kucinich was chosen Congressman of the Year.

The nomination and voting takes place over approximately a two month period and includes the entire national membership, During that time the members are sworn to secrecy about the names of the nominees. There is close to 100% participation in the voting process. Members are emailed, called and sometimes tracked down in person to make sure everyone has a chance to vote. Imagine the kind of leaders America would have if everyone was required to vote.

This is the fourth year in a row Dennis Kucinich has been the Congressman of the Year. The fact is he is simply the best and anyone looking at his voting record knows it.

The Congresswoman of the Year is Maxine Waters. She stood with Dennis against sending impeachment back to committee. Like Dennis, she is brilliant and is doing great work at fighting Bush. Like Dennis, she opposed the war and the attacks on our rights and freedom, she opposes the death penalty and she supports lowering the voting age.

Everyone was pretty disgusted with the Senate so the Senator of the Year Award went to the Spirit of Paul Wellstone.

Sheila Kuehl (SB840) is the State Legislator of the Year. Hugo Chavez is the World Leader of the Year.

Bush/Cheney is the Villain of the Year. We figured that, since they commit their crimes together, they might as well get their award together. Nancy Pelosi was the runner up for Villain.

There were other winners. There were 14 categories. Actually, one of the trophies was a big surprise to the chairman. The members even more secretly voted her the Activist of the Year Award. You can look at the website. http://patrickhenrythinktank.org A lot of the winner were at the meeting last night. It was raining and we still had a great turnout.

We are looking for a good place and time to give Dennis his trophy.

5. According to them, I'm supposed to ask you
why you "are reading a site that supports and promotes racist lies against African-American members of Congress. It's time that all who believe in fairness and honesty and who object to racism, stop frequenting the DU."

Go Democrats! (Go join Bush in political hell, that is!) And take the fools at MoveOn who fell for this sham with you.

Oh, maybe I'm being a bit unfair to them? Look at what they say about us:

If you are a liberal, prepare to be tombstoned at the Democratic Underground. DemocraticUnderground.com has recently increased its purging of Kucitizens and other liberals. Simply posting a message that Kucinich has called for the cutting of funding for the war can get a person banned at DU. Pointing out that Kucinich is right got another poster banned over there. These are just two of a great many of examples why being a liberal is a tombstonable offense over at DU. Has DU filed the necessary papers with the FEC to be an advocacy group for certain 2008 DLC (conservative) candidates? Are they advising their donors that the donations will be going to promoting DLC candidates and to opposing liberal Democrats?

And from the next pages (I read their eyebleeding format so you don't have to!)

If you know of anyone who reads the Democratic Underground, ask them why they are reading a site that supports and promotes racist lies against African-American members of Congress. It's time that all who believe in fairness and honesty and who object to racism, stop frequenting the DU.

Yep. We support racist lies, according to them.

Bush supporters in the Democratic Underground (a known DLC/DINO/Republican hangout) have taken offense to Ron Paul, who recently expressed support for the impeachment of George W. Bush and who has a strong history of opposition to war, war funding, USA-PATRIOT, and the disastrous free trade agreements. Certain individuals in the DU (very likely pro-Bush Freepers) want us to lie about Ron Paul’s record and to exclude his name from a list of Congressmen who opposed a resolution that, according to the conscience of the Democratic Party (Dennis Kucinich), placed “the United States on a dangerous path that could lead to war” with Iran. WE REFUSE TO LIE. The members of the PHDC believe that truth is more important than partisan politics and therefore we stand by the truth. We will not lie about Ron Paul’s voting record and we will continue to support the non-partisan call for the impeachment of George W. Bush. We ask all Americans of all parties to join us in supporting truth over lies and in supporting the impeachment of George W. Bush. We continue to call on all members of all parties to join Dennis Kucinich, Jim McDermott, Ron Paul and Pete Stark in their opposition to war with Iran.

And just because I think it's funny:

"Star Wars" a cautionary tale about politics - SEE IT AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN AFFORD!

7. Since he has the best (by far) voting record of any
of the Congress people running (for either party) perhaps you should ask them first before going after Dennis!
