Repugs are STILL trying to pin 9-11 on Clinton!
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20070124-121614-2703r.htm

<snip>
Eighteen House Republicans have urged the Justice Department to proceed with a polygraph test for Samuel R. Berger, the former national security adviser who agreed to take the test as part of a plea of guilty of stealing documents from the National Archives.
"This may be the only way for anyone to know whether Mr. Berger denied the 9/11 commission and the public the complete account of the Clinton administration's actions or inactions during the lead-up to the terrorist attacks on the United States," the congressmen said in their letter to Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales.

<snip>

Incredible, ain't it? Over five years later, and they're still trying to shift responsibility from fuck-up boy to Clinton! Wasn't Berger already cleared of any wrong-doing?

1. Actually, Berger fucked up pretty bad.
Had a Republican done what he did, plenty of Congressional Democrats would be nailing him to the wall. It was suspicious as hell.

3. He Stole COPIES...Hello???
When will this crap finally be debunked? Berger took copies of materials that had already been submitted to the 9/11 Commission...he was looking at them to refresh himself before his testimony.

The Berger game is to try to find something/anything that deflects from the reality of time as reported by folks like Richard Clarke and others. It's a lame attempt to "verify" the lifeline wingnuts live on that Clinton abetted in 9/11 happening. It's their new Vince Foster.

7. Start Here...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A16706-2005Mar31.html

This is the Washington Post Report of his plea bargain.

Some Highlights:

Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, a former White House national security adviser, plans to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, and will acknowledge intentionally removing and destroying copies of a classified document about the Clinton administration's record on terrorism.

<snip>

Justice Department the circumstances of the episode. Rather than misplacing or unintentionally throwing away three of the five copies he took from the archives, as the former national security adviser earlier maintained, he shredded them with a pair of scissors late one evening at the downtown offices of his international consulting business.

The document, written by former National Security Council terrorism expert Richard A. Clarke, was an "after-action review" prepared in early 2000 detailing the administration's actions to thwart terrorist attacks during the millennium celebration. It contained considerable discussion about the administration's awareness of the rising threat of attacks on U.S. soil.

Archives officials have said previously that Berger had copies only, and that no original documents were lost. It remains unclear whether Berger knew that, or why he destroyed three versions of a document but left two other versions intact. Officials have said the five versions were largely similar, but contained slight variations as the after-action report moved around different agencies of the executive branch.

And these morons scream about Democrats going on "witch hunts"????

5. That's funny (merely republican logic)
bush let the attacks of 9-11 happen so he could go to war, and be a war president and show off his toys and prance across an aircraft carrier pretending he had a cock and integrity. rove knew this would inflame the loins of bush's impotent cowardly chickenhawks. What rove and the rest of the dunderheads in the white house didn't realize was the consequences of such actions. More republican logic - the government doesn't work and we'll prove it.

If Clinton were president on 9-11 there would not have been a terrorist attack because he did not need a terrorist attack.

9. and if Gore was President on 9/11/2001, Osama bin Laden would be
a non-issue ... because he wouldn't have had to lift a finger ... the corporate media and the NRA and the Religious Reich would have plunged this country into a civil war 12/13/2000 when Sandra Day O'Connor voted to let the Florida recount continue ... and Osama bin Forgotten would have been watching the "valiant Bush supporters" trying to storm the White House to "make the illegitimate resident step down and allow the true President to take his rightful office" on CNN/MSNBC/Faux ...

6. Of course they're trying to blame Clinton!
The Neo-Republican's greatest weapon was their ability to control the public perception of any event in their favor, no matter how catastrophic.

Their ability to "create reality" is the only thing they have.
