Love Your Status Quo
Edited on Fri Dec-21-07 12:00 PM by Mythsaje
Gawd only knows that our current economic and political system, and the incestuous relationship they've developed over the past few decades, is just all hunky-dory. We need MORE of that sort of thing. I mean, why should we care about the revolving door and all the lobbyists currently playing footsie with all our great representatives in Congress. I mean, Lobbyists are people too, right? Just like corporations.

Oh, wait.

And let's all hear it for "bi-partisanship." Can't have people actually standing up to the Republicans, can we? When they sponsor and push bills from the minority that screw the little guy and prop up the very agencies that are fucking America over, it's in our interest as "bi-partisan" Americans to give their agenda all the help it can get. Isn't it?

Yeah, that's what we need. We need a President who's not afraid to say "yes" to special interests, particularly the special interests that represent corporate "persons" because, Gawd only knows, that's what we've been lacking all this time. Those poor corporations have been getting the short end of the stick for so long, we've almost forgotten what it means to be a capitalist society. Them damn libruls have been ruining our economy with all their environmental regulations and workers' rights legislation that CEOs and corporate lobbyists are forced to stand on street corners with signs that say "Will Outsource for Food."

By all means, do everything in your power to marginalize and dismiss any candidate obnoxious enough to want to take on corporate power and attempt to restore at least some of the promise of America for the "little guy."

I mean, why should the poor family farmer get any special rights to practice his or her livelihood protected from the vast agri-businesses? Why should the dislocated worker whose job's been exported to a twelve-year-old indentured servant in China get any breaks, right?

"Protectionism" is bad for the U.S. all the way across the board. Can't have American workers and consumers wanting a say in where and how their products are made. Wouldn't be prudent.

We need experienced candidates to take on the job of getting in and out of bed with the mega-corps. It's hard work, after all...all that pandering and compromising is exhausting, and takes a strong heart and mind.

Welcome to America--Subsidary of Exxon, Halliburton, Visa, and Wal-Mart. The land of the cheap, home of the grave.

At least no one can say we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into.

2. Thanks for the kick
I don't usually post this early in the morning. Hate to see this thread simply vanish like it is.

Ah, well.
