We opened our presents tonight...
It's just the two of us, so it tends to be a quiet affair. My favorite was the pix of the kids and their kids, even though the baby's head was firmly planted in the ground because he was being fussy.

And whomever gave me the lead on a Sennheiser ear piece (in the Lounge), well, Santa came through! No more worries about electrocuting myself, or just not being able to hear.

I highly recommend making lists for spouses: I now am the proud owner of "Iraq For Sale", "Sicko" (and I didn't even ask for it but haven't seen it), and my renewal to the ACLU. I have a cornucopia of things to look forward to.

Merry Christmas to you all!

5. Our daughter said she sent us the 'best' pic, and that
entailed the wee one moving and figeting and his head not visible. Leave it to a gardener!
He is safe, just not visible head-wise. So it looks like an almost perfect pic, except for little Cameron. Who isn't so little now!

2. And to you, my Sweet Sister ...
... for all you do here, and for all you've done for me in the past not-so-great year, thank you so much - and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

3. That's cool!
When I was a kid we were always allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. It was always my favorite one.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

4. Merry Christmas to you, too, Babylonsister
We still have one daughter left at home, so we will open our gifts tomorrow. We did decide to have Christmas Dinner today though, so that we don't have to stress out to get it done tomorrow after we open the presents. We've decided to start the "Christmas Morning Breakfast" tradition.

6. I got an ipod
It is way cool. I loaded it up with Christmas music and am sitting here having a very pleasant evening.

I didn't think I would want one but I got an iphone in October and it has an ipod on it. So I started playing with it and fell in love. But it runs my battery down way too fast. So DH got me a regular ipod.

DH also came through for the first time in years with some pretty cool clothes. Right size and everything.

I got him a remote control helicopter and he is in love. LOL My son told me it was what he really wanted and we had to go to three stores to find it. So tonight I feel like I am married to a 12 year old. And I could kick my kid for telling me to get the kind that can fly IN the house as well as outside. What was I thinking???

Day after tomorrow my girlfriend and I are going to Chicago for three days. Going to check out some museums and I get to see some Camp Casey friends. Pray we don't get bad weather! We are driving and if it gets nasty, we won't go.

Merry Christmas, Sister. You are one of the best things about DU  :loveya:

Here's another Christmas song for you by one of my faves, Emmylou Harrris: -> http://www.box.net/shared/static/olzg4pegwc.mp3

8. YOU are the fearless person I know and love. You never fail to
point out the wrongs from the right, or take action when you can. And you are and always have been an inspiration to me. I really value that.

Merry Christmas, Proud! I'm proud to know you! And I haven't heard this one, but your songs are great!
And PS, I got an iTunes gift card, first eva, because after years of downloading, I can't do it illegally. If I f* up my DH's job, I'd never forgive myself.

13. I have one of those helicopters sitting in the other room...
Edited on Mon Dec-24-07 11:55 PM by livvy
It was sent by accident, and the company didn't say anything about sending it back when I contacted them. Their policy is that you pay for return shipment, so I think it's mine, by default. From another 12 year old here, I'm dying to try it out. How does it work? Is is hard to control?

18. It looks pretty easy
It came in one piece so there was no assembly. I know it was flying around my living room about 2 minutes after he opened it.

Gotta love those shipping mistakes. I got some free t-shirts that way not long ago.

19. ...must get some batteries. OK...now who to annoy...
Do I freak out the cockatoo in the living room, or risk annihilation by the bouviers if they can catch it. Imagine the frustration of trying to herd a flying object. It could be a whole new dimension in the bouvier school of thought. Maybe I'll just wait until spring, and take the first flight outside. I'm dying to try it out though. Yeah, another 12 year old here.

15. Hey, that's cool!
Enjoy your toy. Hope DH doesn't destroy your house with the chopper while you're gone.
By the way, I detest Christmas music, but I like what you sent me. Thanks!
PS: We're now brewing for St. Pat's!

20. I knew you would love that Irish song.
And I think I remember you saying you didn't like Christmas music but damn that mix has some great songs in it. I also can't thank you enough for turning me onto that Pogues Christmas song a couple years ago. It is a staple for me at Christmas now.

As for my house, well you have been here and you know we can't do too much to make it any worse. LOL

Thanks for being such a good friend evl. You are one of my first DU friends! We have had some good times, haven't we?

Give my best Christmas wishes to evlspwn and evlson and that crazy bro of yours too. :hi:  :loveya:

22. It's been a fun ride so far.
You've been a great pal yerself, ya know. Hug your boys for me and smack your SO in the head.
I'll be spending tomorrow with my little (?) clones and looking forward to it.
Oh, evlspwn's been cast as Witch 1 in a production of Macbeth. The director is making the witches into prostitutes. My little girl. Gotta love the theatre!

My Santa really rocked this year, no joke. I made a list, he checked it twice! He's living down the 'kitchen potsandpans' X-mas he did a few years ago.

I look forward to a new and better year!

14. My niece gave me a George Bush voodoo doll
it's my favorite present this year (and, she said she got the last one the store had). She said the clerk told her that they had just flown off the shelf.

16. A most warmest and sincerest Merry, Merry to you!
We get together tomorrow. I'm thinking about dropping in on the ex's family. Apparently they don't have any recent dramas to consume them, so I figure if I drop in, it will give them something to talk about.

You take care, my friend, and I will do my best to do the same!

24. I lost one of my buds just recently.
It was very quick. She upchucked one day, recouped the next, and was gone the next night. It was so fast. Blew me away. She had this habit of supplementing her diet with the excrement of the males in our little pack. I tried to stop her, but she was a quick little pooper scooper. Apparently, this is what resulted in her demise. As far as I could figure from her symptoms on the internet, it was an infection, and one that was related to a specific organism that could easily be picked up from her little obsession.

Apart from that, I would love to be your neighbor. And...you would love my pooches. They are big, but that just makes them more huggable.

Perhaps I shall make a Texas trip in the future. Never been there. Probably should.

Peace...
Livvy

25. I'm sorry to hear about your bud, but you have one
in Texas. We don't have pets but I wish we did. You'd always be welcome, my friend!
Speaking of pets, my pal in NY has two kids, 13 and 11. Their X-mas gift is two labrador retrievers, white and gold. Oye! But pups! Who cares - now?
