Election rigging and voting
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 11:25 PM by nadinbrzezinski
ok, ok, we hear it from some

If you speak of this evil people will not vote... why bother? Here is where you need to change the way you think.

Personally I believe elections, for the most part, ARE RIGGED. There are some exceptions, and the caucus might be one of them, but has all to with mechanics. That said... even if you assume, as I do, that all elections are rigged, you sill NEED TO SHOW UP AND CAST A VOTE.

Why?

Several reasons actually.

1.- It is your duty. This country does not require much from you any more... heck voting and taxes seems to be it any longer, with the occasional jury duty. So stop the excuses and show up.

2.- Another truism of vote rigging is that it is easier to do if you don't show up. Yes, if you don't show up. The more people that show up that vote the non-approved way, the harder it is to steal an election.

3.- You and I are part of a democracy movement. Ok, talking the talk ain't enough. You still need to show up and vote.

If nothing else, make them work to steal your vote.

Now that does not mean that we should hide our head in the sand... yes, there are forces in this country that do believe that voting while black, or hispanic or any other minority is a crime. And yes, there is quite a bit of disenfranchisement going on. But just talking of the vote rigging... does make people go... why bother?

So show up and deal with the voting problems... you can chew gum and walk at the same time

;-)

1. another idea would be to do private exit polling
I think it would be great for DUers to organize and do private exit polling and record the results here.

But I agree, voting is a must, and attending a caucus is especially important. Very few actually attend a caucus so if you show up with a group of friends, armed with flyers and passion, you will make a a difference.

2. I'm not in a caucus state, but I hear you, as to private exit polling
it is not only DU'ers, it needs to be done.

If we are to catch the dirty ones that is.

3. Elections are rigged...
Edited on Fri Dec-28-07 01:06 AM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...and it's done more easily than ever with electronic voting machines. This issue is ignored by MSM, Dem leadership, and marginalized by left media gatekeepers -- it should be the front burner priority one issue.

We've got some DUers who have been tireless in their efforts to draw attention to this, but sadly, little seems to have changed.

If we don't fix this problem we have no means, working within the system, by which to address any others.

4. At times I wonder what is in the game for those who so
studiously avoid the problem.

If you know what I mean...

5. I don't get that either...
...are they just so overwhelmed by it they refuse to look? Or are they taking their cues from Dem leadership? Puzzling.

We make democracy die

and there are, of course, more certain ways available to the regime for taking care of uncooperative legisators.

9. I believe the reason 2006 wasn't COMPLETELY stolen was because of our overwhelming numbers showing
up to vote. We must show up and vote.
