A Day of Sadness.

Trying to come to terms with what happened today, I can't. I have been sick to my stomach and at a loss of words. It wasn't a complete surprise, but it still came as a shock.

Democracy and the People lost again. The murder of a Populist Leader will have no good reaction, no positive outcome. Of all the possible futures, none are pleasant for the people of Pakistan, the region or Our world. Tomorrow and tomorrows will bring more heartache, pain and violence.

All that is left is hope. Hope that more people will believe in Ourselves enough to confront Oppression, in all it's forms. All that is left is to be inspired by a brave soul that gave all for a cause greater than herself. All that is left is to remember that We, the People, populate this planet and We are the People.

as I was the day JFK was assassinated,

as I was after Martin was assassinated,

as I was when Bobby was asssassinated,

as I was when Ghandi was assassinated,

as I was the day Allende was assassinated, ...

how/when/where will this collective madness end? I wish I knew.

Because the answer to this one question may unlock other answers to larger questions as well.
