Leahy puts it bluntly: Musharraf has used unconditional U.S.
support to build himself into a dictator.

Senator Patrick Leahy says that while Bhutto may have had her flaws, she would have been key in restoring democracy to Pakistan.

(Leahy) "She may have been the best hope for a democratic change in Pakistan. It's been a real mistake in supporting Musharraf unconditionally as the United States has for years because he has basically used our support to build himself into a dictator and to maintain that dictatorship.''

1. Democracy in the Middle East is a sham anyways...
Leahy might as well save his breath.

This country doesn't give a damn about Democracy.

We might as well discuss all the bugs I get in my backyard.

3. Well, I think it's important for people to speak out
on the role of the U.S. in building Musharraf into a Dictator and shoring him up.

5. Shoring him up, for our own benefit
More on our war for control of the Middle East.

Let's just keep praying that a Democrat gets elected. That's the only way we are going to see any change in this non-sense.

2. ANd what he said needed to be said. Bush throws money at Musharraf
and no one knows where it goes. Musharraf is bush's pet dictator.
