Poll question: DU Experts, why do YOU think bin Laden is dead, or alive?
To me, the biggest mystery is Osama, is he dead or alive? America can't decide which, maybe DU can.

1. I don't know
but I do know that if WE killed him, it would've been front page news, and there'd be a push to declare George's birthday a national holiday. I can't see any benefit to this administration by pretending he's alive when they know he isn't.

There's always one of the thousands of "second-in-commands" to raise up as the next bogeyman.

there are endless second-in-commands to elevate as the new face of Al Qaeda. I think Bush would love to have his legacy be that he caught bin Laden.

Due to reports about his health, especially his kidneys being bad. I believe he died of illness, not battle.

It benefits both sides to pretend he's still alive. Bush to stir up fear and hatred for his convenience and AlQueda because he's a hero to them.

They're both pantloads so perpetuating a lie would be second nature to them.

I discount almost everything I hear from US politicians because it's obvious they lie as easy as they breathe. I also discount the media that runs interference for them. I trust no one completely and no information I can't verify (based on how much we've been lied to so far). Anyone who does is foolish to do so.

If he is dead, bush didn't catch him to prove to the world we CAN get our enemies.

If he is alive, bush hasn't proven that we CAN catch our enemies.

So, regardless, we didn't catch him. And the world can say, bush was inept and bin laden got away with it.

Alas! how peaceful would be the world if there were no Osama. It would be as peaceful as if there were no George Bush. There would be no raving lunatic in the White House then, no idiotic disparity between haves and have notse, no Cheney corporatist greed to make intolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight and universal coverage and a decent infrastructure, worker's right, true rights for the GLBT community and a whole host of other things that it is better not to think about. The eternal darkness which fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Osama! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get George Bush to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch terrorists, but even if they did not see Osama coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Osama, but that is no sign that there is no Osama. The most real things in the world are those that neither the msm nor the average voter can see. Did you ever see fairies being waterboarded on the White House lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Although it is proof that we are not waterboarding them. Sorry. That's classified. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the terrorists there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You may tear apart the baby's rattle and see if there is a bomb inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Which of course does not mean that we should not give it a try. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, and no-bid contracts can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Congressperson, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding. Except a lobbyist.

No Osama! Thank George! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Congressperson,- well, maybe I should't use that 1,00 years line - hey, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of corporate persons.
