Are you kidding me?
I've heard this one before:

N.B. All seen on TV virtually live...

Extremely popular charismatic (ex)Head of State goes to unpopular town against warnings and direct threats to his/her safety...'three shots' 'ring out' while surrounded by 'admiring throngs' of people, while he/she is riding in an open limousine. Other people are shot/killed and the crime scene is hosed down as soon as the body parts are cleared away.

The assassin is killed almost immediately, the body of the Head of State is placed in a coffin and spirited away...no real autopsy is done, but cause of death is stated, then adjusted 'dramatically'; blame is immediately assigned to an individual/group.

The whole face of the world is changed in an instant and there is a speech from a President of the United States (I know, I know, yes I feel the same way) from Texas...

I have now lived thru this twice

5. Right...
and it wasnt' a bubble-top car and it wasn't Dallas TX. And it wasn't a Lincoln.

Your point is what? She stuck he head up out of her automobile and got it blown off.

9. Well, Monkeyfunk...
your point is argumentative and frankly...mistaken.

I don't know what to say except that if she could stick her head out the roof of the SUV, THEN IT WAS OPEN. I and the media, and everyone who was reporting this including the Getty photographer who was a few meters in front of her did not say that it was a convertible. The top was open...right? There's a picture of her with he head up out of the car.

Or did she stick her head thru the metal of the roof...?

12. LOL
argumentative because I corrected a factual mistake?

An SUV with a sunroof is not an "open car". It wasn't a friggin' convertible.

It was a simple factual correction, and hardly worthy of the passion you're exhibiting. I understand the point being made is that it was just like JFK's assassination, but the fact is, it wasn't JUST like it. It had some similarities... some differences.

13. Yes MonkeyFunk...
it is worth the passion. Who are you to tell me what's worth what?

You see, I follow your posts quite carefully and you do this much of the time. You nitpick and get people off the subject...just like you're doing now.
If you want to get technical: the rooftop opening was OPEN and she stood up to acknowledge the crowd. and she fell victim because she was exposed in the OPEN portion of the vehicle.

LOL to you too.

17. I respond to lots and lots of posts
sorry, no offense, but you haven't gotten my attention prior to this thread. But this will do it - getting offended and snippy because somebody claims an SUV is not an "open car" is just crazy enough to get my attention. Congrats.

18. Aren't you special...
I did not get 'snippy'...who do you think you are, Al Gore? Please don't try to go on the "Monkey Funk" offensive when you clearly diverted the issue. This is why people leave these forums...they are hounded by those who pore over each post and criticize. Well, I've been around a while and have seen just about everything here.

I was trying to make a point and it was almost lost amidst the flotsam and jetsam of your style. Good for you...

You are literal-minded fellow and I hope you enjoy yourself.

28. I diverted the issue?
someone said she was in an open vehicle. I corrected that little piece of information with the truth - she was in an SUV with a sunroof.

You went all Tatiana on me.

IF you want to pretend that this killing was exactly like JFK's assassination, you're free to do so in your own head. But when the factoids you post here are wrong, somebody (if not me, someone else) will correct you.

Now rock on with your bad self.

29. Now you have entirely missed the point...
so you insist upon being argumentative - to paraphrase a brilliant line, you automatically gainsay whatever anyone else says if you feel like it. No one said that it was exactly like 1963...the resemblances as reported by the MSM were eerily reminiscent, that's all.

But, as I stated before in another post, you wish to nitpick in order to disrupt, then so be it. YOU "rock on".

Good day to you.

22. I believe that is is fully sealed and
bulletproof...it is NOT an 'open' limousine, so a certain poster doesn't get his shorts all wadded up.

7. And the assassinated is remembered as a martyr
who gave his/her life for his/her country and beliefs. Not saying it "helped" in terms of democracy, just saying that when a public figure is assassinated, it adds to their cache, their legacy.
