Bill Kristol To Become New York Times Columnist In 2008
The Huffington Post has learned that, in a move bound to create controversy, the New York Times is set to announce that Bill Kristol will become a weekly columnist in 2008. Kristol, a prominent neo-conservative who recently departed Time magazine in what was reported as a "mutual" decision, has close ties to the White House and is a well-known proponent of the war in Iraq.

This boy in 2003 said that differences between Shi & Sunni are over rated as far as
Iraq is concerned.

8. They've been falling too far behind in the race to the bottom
The Post has opened up way too big a lead.

Sulzberger had to do something to catch up with Donald Graham.

9. I've cancelled my NYT subscription before
and my husband talked me into getting it delivered again last year since our Richmond, VA paper - The Richmond Times-Disgrace - sucks so bad, but I think hubby and I are going to be discussing this again. I won't have that neocon warmonger befouling my home.
I'm stunned at this news.

13. A lineup of the "liberal" NYTimes' columnists now includes:
Bill Kristol

Thomas Friedman

David Brooks

It's not hard to see the pattern here.

15. I just don't get it. Kristol was already dictating Brooks' columns.
What's the point of paying both of them?

14. I guess this means their new Judy Miller resigned his commission and so the NYT
decided to get a designated NeoCon to lead the march to war with Iran. Since Kristol has rested on his laurel (singular) namely claiming credit for the Republican Congressional victory in 1994 that Newt also claimed credit for (even though historical precedent predicted that it was time for Congress to change parties in 1994), I guess he figures he can serve up a heaping helping of NeoCon horseshit to NYT readers without detracting from his legacy.

Or maybe the health insurance industry just wants him to keep Americans paying those premiums and suffering the scourge of disease for another decade.

16. Maybe they have it wrong ...

Maybe the reason for falling circulation is that people who actually READ newspapers don't want to read right wing conservative GARBAGE!!! Perhaps if they ran actual liberal columnists they would sell more papers.

BTW, I do think that the New York Times should have picked up Ann Coulter as opposed to Bill Kristol. As transparent as the Kristol is as a self contradictory clown, Coulter just screams "I HAVE NO CREDIBILITY". She doesn't hide her anger, hate and lack of decency. She puts it right out there for everyone to see. It's the clever conservatives that are the problem. They are also rabid animals, they just towel off their foaming mouths before TV appearances. Coulter is the full beard of foaming rabid madness and the American people have th right to see with conservatives are ACTUALLY about.

Go Anne Coulter!!!!

17. Bill's Loathsome List entry:

26. William Kristol

Charges: Bears the burlesque Cheshire grin of a sophist born with a large silver spoon jammed sideways in his mouth. A second generation neocon raised in the tradition of Straussian perception management and myth creation, Kristol is basically lying about everything -- always -- and he knows it. Whether at the helm of Rupert Murdoch's Weekly Standard, appearing on Murdoch's Fox News Channel, or co-founding the disastrous Project for a New American Century, Bill is arguably the most egregious media hawk of a generation. Seems to have suffered no ill impact to his career or prestige despite having been completely wrong about everything to do with Iraq and Iran, and actually laughs about it with obnoxious frequency.

Exhibit A: "First of all, whenever I hear anything described as a heartless assault on our children, I tend to think it's a good idea. I'm happy that the President's willing to do something bad for the kids."

Sentence: Corners of mouth torn apart by metal hook towing mules and face stomped by high-heeled elephants.

21. He's a piece of shit, and I apologize to shit for the comparison. Write the Times.
One of the worst human beings to ever have been born - a man who revels in being wrong about everything, and who wants nothing more than to send young Americans to their deaths overseas. Bill Kristol is the personification of evil, and his screeds have no place in a decent person's home.

22. Never fail. So called liberal newspapers
NYT, LAT,Minneapolis Strib - all bend backwards to include right wing columnists. But you don't see conservative newspapers doing the same.

But, hey, liberals control the media, right?

23. Its so wrong to call him a 'conservative'
He's an extreme Right Wing nut case. Barry Goldwater was a conservative.

He has zero credibility.

He is, however, a suitable replacement for Little Miss Run Amok.

24. My short, concise letter to the NY Times
On the hiring of William "Always Wrong" Kristol

The paper of record will now be the paper of inaccuracy as Mr. Kristol submits his bilge and the Times publishes it. The management and board of directors has made an egregious error in hiring this mental midget.
