William Kristol to be a NYT op-ed columnist

The Times Adds an Op-Ed Columnist
William Kristol, one of the nation’s leading conservative writers and a vigorous supporter of the Iraq war, will become an Op-Ed page columnist for The New York Times, the newspaper announced Saturday.

Mr. Kristol will write a weekly column for The Times beginning Jan. 7, the newspaper said. He is editor and co-founder of The Weekly Standard, an influential conservative political magazine, and appears regularly on Fox News Sunday and the Fox News Channel. He was a columnist for Time magazine until that relationship was severed this month.

Fine for the NYT to add some conservatism to their op-ed columnists to go along with the idiocy of David Brooks, but why such an amoral warmonger as Kristol?

1. FUCK the New York Times.
I gave them up a few years ago, but now they've lost ALL cred.

3. They didn't really learn their lesson with Judith Miller, I take it.
From simply a reporting viewpoint, everything he predicted turned out wrong- how does this guy still have ANY credibility? And why would the NYT want to squander what they have remaining on this chump? It's like I always say, from Rumsfeld to Wolfie to now Kristol, these guys fail up.

5. I'm ok with this as long as they change their motto
They could easily change it to "All the News that's Fit to Print plus All the Bullshit that Gushes out of Kristol's Smiling Piehole".

6. Great. Now my parakeet will want to shit his brains out.
I'm putting Kristol's column face-up so the bird can enjoy himself.

9. How pathetic do yu have to be to be the son of one of the founders of an "idealogy"
and you still can't get published without getting Murdoch to throw his money at a puffpublication like the Weekly Standard? Oh well I guess it paid off

that it has happened twice in the neo-con movement. Norman Podhoretz's son has also moved into his family business.
