Now you know how it sounded...except she was not a US President:

While riding in an automobile with her head visible and exposed, in a city about which she had been repeatedly warned of danger, 'three shots rang out' and her head jerked and she 'slumped' (I dare anyone to explore the whole notion of the use of that word during the aftermath of the Dallas shooting - it is fascinating), while she was surrounded by 'admiring throngs of well-wishers'. She was rushed to a hospital where some work was performed but to no avail, and she was pronounced dead to an anguished crowd and the world. A brief speech was then made by a U.S. President (!?) from the State of Texas.

Her body was placed in a coffin without a (competent in JFK's case) autopsy, and quickly buried. The story of her death changed minute by minute and although there is incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, the 'official story stands, and will always stand, 'because there's not one shred of evidence to the contrary'.

Just to let the young'uns know: we all knew it was BS in 63, don't kid yourself. We weren't stupid then and we're not now. It's just that there are many more gullible folk than sensible ones.

Since then, I've tried to make up for it. But, you're still liable to get flame torched here for such things. They don't even have a JFK section on DU that I'm aware of.

I'd like to know more about her assassination, but I won't be any wiser. I'd also like to know more about Bhutto's conversation with David Frost, and if that was a slip of the tongue about the assassin who "also murdered OBL".

Outside of DU I've only met a small number of people who are even paying attention to it, and to most of them it's just a novelty. Few people, I think, really care about this one.

People would get real interested real fast if there were a draft instituted. Don't get me wrong...I'm certainly not advocating that, but self-interest is as American as apple pie.

Those bullets won't reveal anything (the "American bullet" theory is bullshit, IMO). They'll just reveal that she was shot.

we had the exact same conversations 44 years ago...still are. Scarred for life although...it got me intensely interested in politics and the process such as it is.
