Drug companies accused of Iraq bribery
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=314230

Three of Britain’s major drug companies have been asked to provide documents relating to allegations of bribes to the Saddam Hussein government in Iraq.

Allegations that the companies paid bribes to secure lucrative contracts while Saddam Hussein was in power have been made against GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and Eli Lilly.

All are accused of violating the United Nations' oil-for-food program which was started in the mid-1990s to cut the impact on Iraqis of sanctions imposed after Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
