In 2003-4, I watched and read everything I could about primaries. This time, I've experienced
it like the average person does. I've read my local paper, watched my local news, and only stopped at CSPAN for a maximum of about 5 minutes while channel surfing. The one overwhelming impression I've had as an average voter: where the hell was the coverage of Edwards? I saw him exactly once while channel surfing past CSPAN, and my local media has been all Clinton-Obama all the time.

Have to say, although I'm disappointed with the results tonight because I did not think it was outside the realm of possibility that Edwards would have finished with 37% and Obama getting 31%, I'm amazed that he did as well as he did considering that he seems to be on the pay no mind list of at least the media I've been consuming the last couple weeks.

1. Exacty... it's like they want to pretend he isn't really there.
He is the ONLY candidate that will not negotiate with corporates. He said that if you invite them to dinner, they'll eat ALL the food! He is right, there is no negotiating with wolves.

2. I'm sick to death of the media trying to control
the outcome. KO is fine but someone needs to duct tape Chris Matthews' mouth.

Edwards has been my "gut" candidate all along; maybe now the talking heads will pay a little more attention. We need Edwards to get us out of this swamp of disaster . . .

3. The corporate media was also promoting the Huckster.....

He was given bundles of free air time and it became very obvious the he was their choice......
And I agree with you that all we heard was Hillary,Obama...with free air time also and Edwards was given very little time....so what does this tell us ...well the Republican's fear Edwards and know they can't defeat him. This was just one primary...Second place is not bad..... a loss of only a few hundred votes does not mean its over for Edwards....he will end up being our nominee....especially if he stays with his message that I just heard on CNN

4. There is so much more unpredictability on both sides -
it is a really interesting race. But I feel like I read about 10 serious GOP gaffes (per defying public sentiment) to every 1 dem gaffe.

I love Edwards corporate populist bashing. I am undecided, but have started leaning Edwards. I hope Iowa gives him traction so that the story (and donations) is no longer a two-person show.
