Edwards supporters: Do you think Edwards will stay in the race?
Long enough to compete in, for example, South Carolina?

He came in second, for heaven's sake.

10. I thought his campaign needed an Iowa win to stay in the race.
I could be wrong, but wasn't that where he was doing best in the polls?

12. If you don't like the question, don't answer with that shit attitude, or at all.
I was merely asking a question about the goals Edwards himself set for his campaign. I could do without your unwarranted hostility.

35. No, you won.
As Woody Allen said, 90% of winning is showing up. That's especially true when YOU show up for an asshole contest.

11. He'll still be in
Biden, Dodd, Kucinich and even Richardson with his slightly better showing, are the ones I expect to see gone.

22. You're right, he may well be
He's not going to be on the ballot in Texas, but that's not going to matter one way or the other.

Edwards did very well tonight, bobbolink. He's proven he's a strong contender.

Yes, I was disappointed last night. I really thought he'd take Iowa. Thanks for your kind words..... it's going to be a long slog for all of us!

I didn't know DK won't be on the ballot in Texas. I'm sure that's disappointing to you.

Here's to all of us! :toast:

21. Yes. He did extremely well in Iowa.
He has the energy. He tied or beat Hillary depending on whether you consider numbers or the expectations. I believe polls showed him at 15% in Iowa not that long ago. To come up to 31% as fast as he did, especially considering that Obama had a boost form Oprah and Hillary had a boost from Bill and both Hillary and Obama spent far more than John -- that is an achievement, its own kind of victory. More and more people are recognizing John Edwards' name. I know this because I table for him locally. More and more people are coming up and saying they will vote for John in California. We have a lot of work to do out here before February 5.

27. There's no reason that any of the top3
should drop out before Super Tuesday. Iowa IS NOT California and New York. Edwards needs BIG TIME donations right now to keep him in it. He should be competitive in New Hampshire -- possibly first, he'll take a dive in South Carolina but if he can keep viable through Super Tuesday, I think he has a pretty decent chance of winning the nomination.

32. I truly hope so
Isn't a bit early for Edwards to throw in the towel?

Unless he privately has been assured that he would be selected as the VP for either Obama or Clinton.
